OK Vick owners, huddle up (1 Viewer)

dont get me wrong, vick looked bad today. But he also had 2 TDs dropped on him, one by Lelie and one by Jenkins. His WR's are terrible, and I've been saying all year that if THEY can string together some solid efforts, then Vick will be unstoppable. Unfortunately, nobody knows when the stickum will arrive in Atlanta

That is exactly the problem with Vick. As horrible as he looked today and as much as everyone rushed to this thread to say how much he sucks, he still got me 19 points.
 Not sure I see that as much of a problem.
Yeah. He got me 13 points. 2.5 under his average. I have palmer sitting there. Palmer would of got me a much needed 28 points. I have had a history of having good teams do NOTHING in our playoffs... so this scares me a bit.Vick did look BAD. I couldnt watch anymore of the game. By all means he should of shredded them, and it was painful to see him play so bad. Every friggen time I turned the channel though, Palmer was throwing a friggen TD!!!!If I had nothing else on the bench, I would stick with Vick... but Palmer looks to be back in teh groove and I will take a steady 16-17 points over the up and down of Vick.

Hmmmm....Between the two, Palmer has been the one with his scores all over the map, far more so than Vick. If your thinking is that you want steady points from your QB, without so many hills & valleys, Vick has by far been the more consistent scoring QB of the two.

However, I think some of thos peaks & valleys that Palmer has had this year, could well be attributed to him returning so quickly from his knee surgery.

Between the two QB's, there's definitely a large talent gap in their respective WR's and that, combined with Palmer's progress from his knee surgery, certainly makes it a tough decision.

You have to ask yourself two basic questions;

#1) Was Palmer's career game yesterday an aberration, or do you expect Palmer to continue having games like that, from here on out?

Remember, that was a career game for Palmer yesterday. In his pro career, Palmer has never had a game like that before.

#2) Do you expect Vick's WR's to continue dropping balls?

Remember, Lelie & Jenkins both dropped easy TD's right in their hands yesterday. If they catch those balls instead of dropping, them Vick's stat line would show 3 TD's & another 30 yards or so passing, to go along with his 70+ yards rushing.

Of the two picks Vick threw, one was a definite :X & the other was not a badly throw ball, just a great play by the defender.

The fumble? That's just Vick. He knocked that ball out himself, with his knee, when he was scrambling around on 2nd & 20 at the end of the game trying to make something happen. The play before, when it was 1st & 10, Vick had scrambled to the sideline for an easy 1st down only to have it called back for a hold away from the play. That unnecessary hold doesn't happen, then neither does 2nd & 20. The 2nd & 20 doesn't happen, then neither does the fumble.

Of course, if Lelie or Jenkins had caught either of their easy TD's instead of dropping them, the fumble wouldn't have happened either.

You're actually in an excellent perdicament. I'm sure there's lots of fantasy owners who would love to have your problem of having to decide who to play between Vick & Palmer.

:goodposting: Thank you for responding.

I see your point. It would of got Vick another 4 points for me, making it 17 which is solid.

Information is everywhere and John Clayton was talking on buffalo radio about Palmer. How his mechanics have suffered since his injury and the poor play of the Oline. I guess I was waiting for a break out game to get confidence in him.

Lastly. It is NOT an excellent perdicament... hehehehehe. I have started the wrong QB 4/5 times. You don't know how frustrating that is. I am looking for a sign to start one the rest of the way. By all rights, Vick should of had a solid 17-20 point game and palmer a 15-17 point game (that was my projections this week) given the defenses. I also had Vick running one in... which he didn't. So yet again my projections fail me, so I just need to stick witha horse and live and die by it, because when i get fancy and play the match-up... (Browns rush D is terrible) I lose! So my theory to save my sanity is.... just pick one and go with it. :bag:

FWIW Clev is 6th in the league vs the pass, so maybe our expectations were too high.
Good point. The sad thing is Atlanta is sitting there with a stable full of young, "talented" receivers that were all high or atleast first day picks. Yet, those unmotivated bastages can't catch a ball to save their lives. I think they are scarred and may be messed up psychologically because I'm sure they are hearing about it in the papers and radio stations in Atlanta. Maybe the best thing for them to do would be to go play somewhere else and start over...Ala Terry Glenn and Javon Walker...seemed to help resurrect their careers. But like someone mentioned earlier...I played against the Peyton Manning owner in one of my leagues (basic scoring) and Vick did indeed outscore Peyton Manning. Though it was an "off" day for both. But those 74 rushing yards from Vick is what put him over Peyton. And you will NEVER see Peyton with anywhere near 74 yards rushing.I plan on riding Vick all the way this year. If only I could get my RB's and WR's to score.

 The joke today over the Radio is that there is going to be a new Soap Opera starting soon, named the Dropsies.

Starring cast, you ask?

Why the Falcons recieving crew of course :lmao:

Yes, his WRs are terrible. But from a fantasy perspective, it doesn't matter -- his WRs aren't changing from here on out. I don't get to lobby for bonus points in my league for easy TD drops, so you can't dismiss concerns about Vick by pointing at the WRs.

Didn't get the ATL game yesterday.

However, I noticed on NFL.com that Vick came out for a snap. Why did Schaub enter?

thanks

Just to add something about Vick vs. the Browns - I looked it up before yesterday's games and the Browns had given up the 2nd fewest fantasy points to QB's this year, after Chicago. So I wasn't expecting Vick to dominate them.

But I just thought he could run for one... they have a poor run D.
