I bowl once a year for about 2-3 games. Somehow I manage to throw a turkey or sometimes two in that outing. But I often end up with a handful of crappy splits and whatnot in there.

No way I'd take that bet, as the $25k would be significant enough of a hit for me given my odds of success throwing one cold.

How many chances does a guy get at a million dollars?  Have to go for it.  Figure myself at 50/50 to throw a 9 or the strike cold, so have to give a throw.

40-1 odds?  No way I pass on that.  Conservatively, I'm bowling at least 6 strikes in 40 throws.

Forgot to calculate the 9 into it.... odds are even better then.

Absolutely.  25K loss isn't going to break me...it will sting no doubt but being in my mid 40's I've accumulated enough of a nest egg to absorb a blow like that.  Add 1,000,000 to that and I'm looking at retiring in my early to mid 50's.  That's life changing money there.

A lot of MLB guys that are good hitters wouldn't take that bet vs a motivated Kershaw.

I probably couldn't make contact on one his curve balls in 100 swings.  I might have a chance to time up a fastball if I knew it was coming and I had 100 chances, but I doubt it would get to the outfield.

Those bets not offered. The whole point is it's got to hurt some if you have to pay. Of course everyone would make the bet if it was a buck to win 40.
Exactly.  It's still worth it though.   it's a yes if you can't sell shares but it's a no brainer if you can.

In a heartbeat.

I have a 300 to my name. I threw 19 in a row that night before I succumbed to the Yager bombs. :X

Sure, piece of cake.  When you average 224 over multiple leagues, one gets plenty of strikes.
Random PBA pattern and you don't know which pattern before you bowl?

No chance I do it if this is the lane condition.

Typical  USBC house shot that I bowl on (White), yes I do this.
