At $489 for the 64GB version, not really the "value" over competitors anymore, it seems. For the same price you can get a similar phone elsewhere.
Report back either way! (and send me invitezzz)I'll have mine within the next couple of days, finally got an invite last week. I'll report back if I find anything too craptacular or amazing.

Droid Maxx user (came from a Nexus and numerous other androids) and love it for the opposite of this reason. No longer have to carry anything other than the phone. I can run it hard all day and still have a ton of battery left. My battery is currently at 46% and hasn't charged in 22 hours and I use is constantly. I can't see myself ever going back to a phone that doesnt have outstanding battery life.Went to the gym this morning (look, I work out!) and ran Pandora and my workout tracker. By the time I got home my phone was at 65% and we were just headed out for the day. Popped a spare battery in my pocket (could have also just popped it in the phone) and never had to worry about not using my phone too much all day long.
I use a ski tracker app while I'm skiing. Tracks where I've gone, how fast, slope angle, etc. Everyone that I show it to thinks it's awesome, yet I've never been out with one of them that didn't have to shut it off half way through the day so they wouldn't have a dead battery by 4pm. I haven't had a problem. When my phone is 4% at the end of the day and we're headed out for apres, just pop in a new battery and it's like 7am as far as my battery life is concerned.
Multi day camping or backpacking trips with expensive, cumbersome solar charging stations that rarely ever work? No thanks, 3 batteries in my bag and I'm good for the whole trip.
I also have never had to be one of those neanderthals on the floor crowded around a plug in the airport since I got a phone with a spare battery.
But best of all is that I just never have to worry about it. I can play games, browse heavily while waiting at the doctor's office, etc and I never have to think "hmmm, maybe I should cut this back so I don't run out of juice before the day ends". That's not even to mention that this is android we're talking about here, where it's not uncommon for some rogue background app to suck up 40% of your battery in an hour before you notice.
I'll never go back.
I use my Maxx heavy all day and it is still at 35% when I plug it in at night. My wife and I both have 1 and both heavy users. She is a heavier user than I so she carries around a portable charger for the times she forgets to plug it in at night and runs low. The charger is not much bigger than a spare battery would be and she can get 2 charges out of it before it has to be recharged.I received an invite a couple weeks ago but was on vacation and didn't check my email for a couple days and it expired after 24 hours.I've had the One Plus One for several weeks now and love this device. The good battery life and the ability to fully charge in 1.5 hours makes me not mind not having a removable battery. I'm looking forward to the bamboo back cover when it becomes available.
No extra invites left, but they just started another marketing promotion where they're giving away 10k invites, so it continues to be easier to get a hold of one.
I sure do, would love one.dorno said:Oats, you still need an invite? I'll go in order of requests till it's taken.
Received and purchased, thanks again.Oats, invite forwarded to you.
pm me your email and i'll forward it to you.Anyone want an invite? I just received one.![]()
Nexus One is about to give up the ghost. Would love a chance to upgrade
Pretty much. People like Otis see a shiny new device, only to have CyanMod 11 which most who have an unlocked bootloader can get. I doubt he even knows what Xposed framework is, and how that can make a 2 year device just as new and even more cutting edge than the latest Otis device fetish.would rather have a nexus 5 running Android L in 2-3 months time for 1-200$ less
great looking phone, but a pass for me.

Exactly. You realize that Android is now optimized for even single core devices now, don't you?Seriously, what a loser!!!1Pretty much. you should check out Hulk's thread. Being on a contract is a bad move for just about every person out there(and will look into it once my GS3 goes off contract)
Oh yeah, I'm never getting into a contract again, especially with Verizon, and especially with a Samsung device, which I will never buy again. I'm going unlocked, pure Android, off contract this time. The latest OTA KK update locked the bootloader down to where I can't future proof it anymore (although I still rooted it and can modify the build.prop when needed), and even the access to the external SD card has been borked to where an Xposed module fixed that giving me my permissions back.you should check out Hulk's thread. I have 12 "smart" phones currently under contract with verizon and another 24 "flip" phones, any idea what the cost would be to take the smart phones off contract?Oh yeah, I'm never getting into a contract again, especially with Verizon, and especially with a Samsung device, which I will never buy again. I understand why (security and Samsung/Verizon wanting to enter the enterprise market big time), but I want full control of my device, wanting to get it's full value with the latest of what Android has to offer, and to not have carrier control over such issues. Props to HULK for that thread. Gonna be very useful in the coming months.

Yeah, that's a question as far as rates and packages left better for someone who deals with that. One thing to consider is security though. If say you instituted a BYOD sort of policy, and you transferred sensitive information, it may be better for you to have the user have less control over the device. The latest KitKat OTA that I found for my GS3 had this:Yes business phones mostly but mine and a few others are also used as personal phones.I have no idea. Are your devices for your business? I ran CyanMod on a cheap Galaxy Prevail that a nephew used, and that device was ten times better than what was shipped stock. CyanMod is awesome.Been running cyanogen on my rooted nexus for years. Looking forward to the upgrade to the oneplus.

It looks like there is an ETA for the OnePlus 2 already... 2H15 maybe?I waiting to see what the new Nexus will be. If it is a 6 incher like the rumors say, I'll be hoping on this train.
