If so: lolIf Harris is close to what he once was this could be a good, not great D. None of the other linemen are close to being dominant players.LBs are good but overrated. Secondary is pretty haggard right now, maybe (maybe) better with some guys back from injuries.Didn't the FBG have them as the #1 ranked D this year?
Football Outsiders have them #1 too. I'ved used their preseason defensive rankings for the past 3 years now and every year they are right on point. I've drafted them in a few of my leagues. If so: lolIf Harris is close to what he once was this could be a good, not great D. * How rough of shape will the Bears secondary be on Sunday night? CB Charles Tillman's status is uncertain after he missed all of camp following shoulder and back surgeries, leaving the Bears with the dire possibility of starting Trumaine McBride and Nate Vasher. At safety, Zack Bowman and rookie Al Afalava are the likely pairing. Neither has started an NFL game.
Pretty sure FO has them 2. They have the Ravens at 1.Football Outsiders have them #1 too. Yeah it means the Packers and Vikings are overrated.Looks like they also have Chicago as 2nd most likely to win it all, if that puts things in perspective: http://www.footballoutsiders.com/playoff-o...off-odds-report
Actually Bowman will start at CB with Vasher if Tillman does not play. Daniel Manning will play at Safety.http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/ic/blo...der/index.shtmlTHE OTHER SIDELINE

And they are very right if the Bears stay healthy. Why? The Bears were one of the top 8 defenses in the NFL if you look at the yards per play they allowed and the turnovers they caused. If the d line learns from Marinelli to become better pass rushers and most are healthy, they will be a top 3 defense. Then you look at an offense that was a bottom 10 last year and then added a top 10 QB and upgraded the depth of the OL with 2 tackles and a guard, they will be around a 15th ranking type of offense with some upside if the receivers end up improving greatly (although not to be expected). And we all know their special team has always been an easy top 10 in the NFL as well. But thankfully the season is starting and we can stop worrying about predictions and just see what happens.Looks like they also have Chicago as 2nd most likely to win it all, if that puts things in perspective: http://www.footballoutsiders.com/playoff-o...off-odds-report
Pretty sure Daniel Manning and Kevin Payne are the starting safeties.http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/ic/blo...der/index.shtmlTHE OTHER SIDELINE

Yes they are but Afalava could be the SS and Payne the FS in nickel situations with Manning as the nickel back. Bowman will be at one corner and Tillman the other with Vasher the injury replacement.Pretty sure Daniel Manning and Kevin Payne are the starting safeties.http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/ic/blo...der/index.shtmlTHE OTHER SIDELINE
