A's get SS Tyler Ladendorf.
Is Kenny Williams just going to sit by and watch all the competition get better?

Let's hope so.Is Kenny Williams just going to sit by and watch all the competition get better?
Cabrera can't hit or field. I don't know if I'd classify this as "better."A's get SS Tyler Ladendorf. Is Kenny Williams just going to sit by and watch all the competition get better?
As a Twins fan trust me, he's better.Cabrera can't hit or field. I don't know if I'd classify this as "better."A's get SS Tyler Ladendorf. Is Kenny Williams just going to sit by and watch all the competition get better?
Not better than Nick Punto, or Alexi Casilla? He is better.Cabrera can't hit or field. I don't know if I'd classify this as "better."A's get SS Tyler Ladendorf. Is Kenny Williams just going to sit by and watch all the competition get better?
To fool me into re-upping my weekend season tickets, so I could pay $30 per seat watching a Triple-A team again for the second half.So why the #### did Oakland even sign Cabrera and Holliday at the beginning of this year?![]()
Cabrera was because so they could pawn him off at the trade deadline. Too bad Cabrera had to suck to start off the year, though. Pretty sure they were hoping for a bigger bounty for him.As for Holliday....I can't believe they would give up Carlos Gonzalez and Huston Street for a guy they could just flip at the deadline. I guess they thought they could resign Holliday, but he got to expensive. So why the #### did Oakland even sign Cabrera and Holliday at the beginning of this year?![]()
Since July 1, Cabrera has batted .373 with eight doubles, two homers and 16 RBIs in 110 at-bats. He's a two-time Gold Glove winner, in 2001 and 2007, who has a career .274 average. can't hitCabrera can't hit or field. His bat has recently come to life as has his fielding, but he was TERRIBLE in both for much of the year. I can understand a slow start to batting, but I have no clue why he was so lousy in the field.can't hitcan't field
Ladendorf was a Twins 2nd round pick in 2008. He's 21 (I think), just moved from low A to High A. Hit really well in low A, not so much in high A.Not one of the Twins top prospects, but he's young and maybe the A's see something in him.Can anyone tell me about Ladendorf? Any good? What's the upside?Oakland thought they had a legitimate chance. If Giambi and the other bats had actually hit the ball as was hoped, and the young pitching matured faster than expected, we had an actual chance to make a run at the division. Some people were picking Oakland as a dark horse candidate. We gambled and lost. I'm okay with that.
Ranked the #32 prospect in the system. Sucked at rookie ball last year, but destroyed it this year and has struggled again since being promoted to A. Likely will have to be moved from SS. Drafted purely for his hitting, destroyed JuCo ball two years ago.Notorious T.R.E. said:Ladendorf was a Twins 2nd round pick in 2008. He's 21 (I think), just moved from low A to High A. I had a friend who destroyed JuCo ball too. He's a carny now.Ranked the #32 prospect in the system. Honestly, I think Wolff put pressure on Beane to make a splash. The Holliday pickup ran counter to everything Beane had been doing (dealing Haren for prospects, Swisher for prospects, Harden for prospects, etc.), and it was pretty evident that the pitching wouldn't be ready this year.Getting Wallace might bail Oakland out, but I hated to see Gonzalez rushed to the bigs and then cast off when he struggled. So why the #### did Oakland even sign Cabrera and Holliday at the beginning of this year?![]()
