I know don't this doesn't matter for most of you but for those of us in 2QB leagues the Denver QB could be a solid starter down the stretch.

Orton is listed as the current backup but I can't see Fox going back to Orton after benching him for Tebow. Is Brady Quinn more likely to get the nod if/when the Tebow experiment ends?

I think it will most likely be Quinn so the Broncos have a better look in what they have in him. I don't expect Orton to get much more playing time as he most certainly will not be on the roster next season.

Cecil said that his insiders in the Broncos org. basically told him Quinn will not see the field barring injuries. It's Tebow for the very near future. Then Orton.

That's very interesting. Fox sure seemed to hint on Monday that Quinn was the next man up.I'd be very interested to hear Cecil's take on this whole mess and specifically how long he thinks Tebow can keep the job assuming his play doesn't show meaningful improvement.

I heard it on the WW podcast FWIW.

Need a third option. "I don't believe he'll be benched."

I think this is basically a deliberate move on the Broncos part. They're going to play TEbow unless he's hurt and find out about him right now so they can move on to something else next season if he's an utter disaster(insert "tinfoil hat crap about Elway having a Cardinal chubby for Luck, etc. etc." here). They can't truly find out anything after only a couple games, so I don't expect a benching at all.

They likely won't/can't go back to Orton now and, as mentioned, insiders claim Quinn won't see the field barring something crazy in the way of injuries. To me, that spells "Tebow is the starter for the remainder of the year barring injury."

I suppose if you're asking who's up next if he, indeed, does get injured then it's probably Orton if Cecil's contacts were being straight with him.

The problem with "Tebow as the starter for the rest of the year" theory is that if when the Broncos decide he is not their future QB, then they have to evaluate everyone else in the organization in the offense they intend to run next year (a pro-style offense), that includes RBs, WRs, TEs, OL, etc. You can't evaluate and coach to that system if Tebow is still your QB.

So, when they make the decision that Tebow is not the future QB, it makes more sense to go back to Orton, or to Quinn, than to stick with a flawed offense.

It has to be Quinn!

Tebow got his shot, which was purely a result of public pressure, and totally undeserved.

If they go back to Orton w/o looking at Quinn it makes the Tebow sham look like a complete publicity stunt and that team will turn on Fox.

Current votes - 14 for Quinn and 12 for Orton. I'm obviously not the only one who is not sure about this. Paging Cecil...
