After s bottle of wine last night I was worried but still at 215.7. Day two check.
Bottle of wine on a Tuesday night?
And?
A whole bottle seems like a lot, that's all. However, based on my experience in this forum, lawyers seem to be under incredible pressure every day of the week. It must go with the territory.
Yeah I did a ton of family law yesterday. It's quite surprising that I actually stopped at just a bottle (also, I do think my wife had a glass so maybe it was just three glasses which ain't bad).

Conundrum today. Supposed to attend a lunch meeting. I didn't bring anything to eat from home. Meeting is providing pizza.

With the holidays approaching, we should have a real contest, one where there will actually be a winner, predicting the weight of our two heroes on January 2, 2016. The closest to the combined weight wins (over/under doesn't matter). We could all throw in $20 to make it fun. I'll start:

Oats: 237

Woz: 221

Total 458

I hate work. I planned to be done today by mid afternoon to go for a long run after work by the water in the sun. Worked long hours every day this week then obviously need at home.

Just now leaving the office. Sun is pretty much down.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Otis in person the other day. And I gotta say, I expected a much bigger dude, based on this thread. He's tall but looks just fine for his height. I'm willing to bet he's in better shape than a lot of guys ripping him in this thread.

Now Oats, get off your ### and make a run at this thing.

WWI ended quicker than this weight loss contest.
Know thy enemy.

In this case, I knew that Otis would be either super gung ho and Bale me to death in the first month or that he'd get bored and stop trying altogether. Since the latter was much more likely, the bet was a no-brainer and has allowed me to continue losing weight slowly so that life doesn't suck.

As bad as it seems I've been at this I've very easily going to win this bet and in 2015 I've lost 30 lbs.

You topped out at 250?

Congrats. Your weight loss plan has been a success. The pace of your weight loss is driving some of us nuts though. You should be able to end this easily by Jan 31.

This started before the football season began. You're pretty optimistic.

So thanks to a bit of a stomach bug I was at a cool 215.4 this morning.

Going to finally see this through. Had the wife give away our junk food and we are going to do cardio/yoga every night together. :flex:

Alright. I'm going to jump in here. I've been above 200 lbs. for about 20 years. I'm currently at about 210 (highest was 234 :bag: ). My 50th birthday is Feb. 13th. I'm committing to losing those 10 freaking lbs. by birthday and seeing 199 on the scale.

I plan to work out like a mad man (I already work out quite a bit) and cut my carbs and calories. We'll see how it goes.

So, away I go.

I do a lot of boxing (have my first amatuer fight in March) and circuit training. I'm in pretty good shape but losing another 10 would make me a lean, mean, fighting machine.

Your first fight is and your 50? How old is the guy you are fighting? Good luck.

My gym (MMA Lab) does these quarterly fights with a bunch of other gyms in the area. Last time there was about 50 people fighting (25 fights). They do it at a local high school and have refs, judges, etc. You can pick 1 or 2 minute rounds (3 rounds) and if you want to just do hands, hands and kicks above the waist, hands and all kicks, hands-kicks-knees, or add elbows. I am sticking to just hands. They will match me with someone around my skill range (0 fights, 3 or so years of training) but any age is fair game.

I really wanted to fight in November but I bruised my ribs in sparring. So it's actually kind of cool that my first fight will be when I'm 50. Depending on how it goes, it may be my last one too...

You have basically the same build as me. I'm same height, 48, about 215, and I think at 195 the wife would faint if she looked at me.

Good luck with your pursuits in the sweet science.

I think 195 would be an awesome weight for me. I got down to 202 earlier last year and was looking pretty damn good. 195 would be awesome.
