Otis fad diet thread — yoga, fasting, and kevzilla walking on🚶‍♂️ (1 Viewer)

Was just under 170 on Friday after OTF with my lady friend, but I'm pretty sure the dozen chicken wings I threw down at BDubs tonight did me no good.

Wake up, ladies!  It's 330 on Sunday morning....time to go put in some work!  Woohooooo!!!!
It was leg day yesterday. Ice skating today and possibly a back workout. Depends on how beat I am this afternoon.

Here is the plan for today:

1.   Move around.

2.   If it tastes good, don't eat it.

Weigh in this morning, 279.4  another 3.2 lbs for 21 lbs total.  Very pleased with this result, was hoping for 2.  Will post official results tomorrow.

Potato waffle for breakfast, have a 2 hour drive for my son's hockey game and then 2 hour drive back.  May stop at Subway for lunch, should be able to make a reasonable choice.  Avoid the mayo, chips  and soda, lots of veggies.

Refocusing this week.

I really cut down a lot just cutting back on booze. More than I thought possible. Either I was really drinking way too much over the holidays or just not giving af.  Its almost alarming.

Going back to my 4 meal a day plan and will add another rest day into my weight split where I will throw in some light mobility type stuff or go on a long walk.

Just got back from gym and yoga pants galore.  I was robbed during my prime gym days of college/20s

Chicks wore baggy shorts and tshirts

She still not using this. My wife said she wanted one today. My wife goes to spin 2-3 times a week. Want to know if mrs oats likes it. If not, you selling it.
Fyi, was reading a review at amazon and multiple people said that you have to pay the yearly membership of $400+ or you essentially lose almost all of the instructional videos.

Yeah, im aware of that. This is the primary reason for the bike. Why anyone would get it and not want the classes is beyond me. $10 a week for high level spin classes is a steal.

It may be simplistic thinking but a heart rate based program rather than a class seems like it would be more useful.

Its both. But different strokes for different folks. I have no clue half the time what you are talking about in this thread with science and numbers, but im still losing weight. I know my wife would enjoy top level spin classes. Its 20-30 per class around here if you dont belong to a club and then you have to find an instructor you like. This gives so much variety. There is always a chance the company folds and then you are SOL. But im willing to try it. The price per month of $40 seems like a good deal.

From reading the reviews, I think people weren't expecting a reoccurring annual charge.  I for one thought 3k would get you more than a spin bike with a screen.

Well, its $1995 and I think you pay one year up front. If I did not know that, then I would be bummed. But the whole selling point of the bike is the subscription.

You know, people argue about the most important discoveries of the last couple decades.  But, really, it's easy.  Lululemon is the greatest scientific breakthrough in the history of man.

One of my two workouts today - 1.5 hours, 162 average HR.  :flex:

Tonight is my birthday - small breakfast, no lunch, and grilled chicken/roasted potatoes for dinner.  Woohoo.

Everyone who buys it knows what the deal is. The thing is awesome, I think I've ridden every day but two in the past three weeks, had never been on a spin bike. I can see and feel the difference in my leg and hip strenght.

And they do have heart-rate specific classes. Not everyone goes the same speed/resistance/output. You tailor each class yourself depending on fitness. You quickly learn what your zones are and follow the classes with efforts relative to whatever shape you're in. And if you're at competitive you're constantly trying to set a new output PR or finish in the top x% of whatever class you're doing.

Made chicken chili for dinner for tomorrow and ground turkey with taco seasoning for tuesday.

Grilled some ground turkey, topped with mustard and a little ketchup and onions for dinner.

More peloton questions. Is the bike magnet based resistance or does it change the flywheel friction? Or something else?

Spin bikes for me aren't super realistic when out of the saddle. They can't really act right at 9 and 3 when hammering at least compared to outside riding. I've been told a lot of that is dependent on the friction used and the ones ive used are the cheap kind.

I have a nicer spin bike and I have the same feeling about hammering out of the saddle.  Its good up until a point, but the resistance isn't realistic at the extreme end.

Pretty crappy week, so I'm going with my alternative scale today - I'm down 45 pounds!

I'm already to roll this week. Listening to Dr. Rhonda Patrick on Joe Rogan podcast has motivated me. Loaded the freezer with all natural chicken sausage and wild caught salmon filets. Will mix in a few rounds of beans and rice too. On the side, I have already prepared broiled asparagus, roasted cauliflower, red cabbage stew, and braised/roasted Brussels sprouts - just have to reheat. Also have broccoli and mustard greens washed and ready for duty.

Then get yourself a Kickr, NEO, and a Zwift account.  Those will have plenty of resistance to keep up with your hammering.

From the Peloton website:

Designed from the ground up by Peloton in NYC, the Peloton bike merges high-design with modern technology–and there's nothing else like it. With a near-silent belt drive system and a magnetic resistance flywheel, this bike rides smooth and quiet. And its carbon steel, monocoque construction provides amazing strength and stability all while maintaing the gentle curves that make Peloton a perfect addition to any room in your home.

So far being away for work a couple days and I'm not doing great.  But the key is I'm doing better than usual.

Raisin Bran for breakfast (small bowl), a protein bar, some steamed chicken and vegetables for lunch when everyone ordered Chinese, and went out to a big steakhosue for dinner and ordered a kale salad and seared tuna, no dessert.  Did have a couple of alcoholic beverages, but ultimately, if this is what I do, it's a vast improvement from the past.

Wife just got a year of every Beach Body fitness program streaming for $99. I plan on introducing some excercise when I crack 200 pounds. The weight is dropping and I don't have the cravings I had last time I cut weight and excercised heavy. This time seems easier and part of that may be that I hung up the running shoes for the first few weeks.

What equipment do you have.

I realized last night that I didnt remove my wastes at all this weekend. Feeling backed up if you know what I mean. Hoping it pushes through today. If not, my weigh in tomorrow will not look good.
