Otis fad diet thread — yoga, fasting, and kevzilla walking on🚶‍♂️ (1 Viewer)

Day 15/100- 2 hours of disc golf and a little work cleaning out the gutters (sadly, not a euphemism). Going to claim 60mins.

60 Minutes this Morn 60 Min Tonight, 5.8 miles, 13,000+ steps. Mild weather today, temperatures about to rise starting tomorrow. Trying to make good while I can. Wife joined me this morning, she is getting close to 1,000 minutes.

1,220 Total. Tummy is shrinking.

Ok got in 58:45 of running.  Sex with the wife (maybe) which I’m counting.  I’ll just round it up to an even 60 minutes for today.

98 minutes today.  Morning yoga and then some bipedal locomotion on a gorgeous freaking day.

I need 87 minutes tomorrow to hit my first 1000 for April, so I'm gonna get at least that many because hell yeah, that's why.

Did we beat the 10k guys on every challenge yet?  I noticed they had an "alcohol optional" happy hour, so we should be able to kill anything involving "drinking and ____."

4/12 - it’s pouring rain so I think I am done for the day. Lucky I got out early, but still ran the last 2 miles in light rain. 56 minutes.

672 minutes for the month.

Productive day!  115 minutes of yoga and outdoor bipedal locomotion on a perfect sunny day.  I also did about two hours of yardwork but am not counting that.

I'm at 1032 for the month.  Will plan to hit 2000.  Maybe stretch it to 2500?

70 minutes. Walking and weights.  Didn’t put a dent in the calories I took in today.  Easter Sunday means spring is here and summer is just around the corner.   Time to get serious and drop a few pounds.

Alright compadres. Turns out I went from "not that busy" to "exceedingly busy" overnight. Which is great from a "career" perspective, but less great from a "tracking workout time of random strangers on the internet" perspective. That said, I like to fancy myself a man of my word so, to the best of my ability, I have updated the data through yesterday.

Thus, without further ado: the results so far

I started this 'challenge' wanting to get back on the rowing machine, but that hasn't happened. Instead, I have been taking nightly ~2 mile walks around the nearby lake which has helped with both sanity and hopefully not putting on too many quarantine pounds. The toddler appears no longer content in the stroller so it's a meandering hour + usually.

I am sure to have messed up some of the tracking thus far, so to remedy that I have made the tracking sheet public here. I had decided not to crowd-source tracking originally because I thought people posting would be more motivating than silently updating a random document - and I still believe that - so going forward would recommend folks continue posting here but I now ask if they want to continue tracking to also update the sheet - I can't keep up :)   Great work everyone - keep on keeping on.

Yesterday was another Morning and Evening walk around the track. I finally mapped out the exact distance we typically go. We are walking approx 2.8 miles in 60 minutes which isn't a real fast clip but it's above 2.5 which is where I think you need to be above to get more benefit.

-I have a BDay tomorrow and that was part of the reason I jumped in. I also wanted to try and forget about what is going on right now in the World. I can't change anything by beating my chest and reading a lot of nonsense so this has also been a welcome distraction. The distraction has also allowed me to clear out a lot of negative thoughts/thinking pattern as Mrs and I have some big decisions moving forward and I am sure many of you will as well. America 2.0 doesn't sound that appealing to a person who typically does not welcome a lot of change.

-Mrs and I have to decide whether to stay in Florida or potentially make a move right outside NYC in a major hospital network up there, you can imagine our trepidation right now and we don't scare that easily. Gotta be honest, we're exploring other options now. I never thought I would move back towards Miami after we left there a few years ago but we might have to do exactly that. FTR...Palm Beach and Jupiter where we live, if you ever get an opportunity to go there or work there, TAKE IT!!! I don't regret a single day we have lived here. The good news is we bought a condo here and we won't be selling it so we will keep a home here.

-We just couldn't cook another meal yesterday so we finally caved and picked up a pizza. I had a real Coke in the bottle to go with it, delicious!!!

I wanted to thank all of you for allowing me to hang out in here and find a better solution to chips, cookies and a box of Kleenex watching the TV right now.

Thru 4/12- 1340 Minutes total, was trying to build a cushion for my BDay but I think I'll just exercise right thru it.

You guys/gals are crushing it, great job!

I've really slacked off during this COVID quarantine.  Through mid March I was averaging over 11K steps per day but that is way down due to being really busy at work and the quarantine itself.  I've been doing some basic exercises like Sun Salutation each morning, and a rotation of push ups, curls, pull ups, then rest day.  Shooting for 100 per day when I'm doing the push ups and curls and 10 per day for the pull ups

Anyway, Saturday I worked in my yard and got ~12K steps  and yesterday I got just over 10K - so I'm on a new streak - lets see how long I can make this streak last!

Week 1 -3

Week 2 -2

It's a loss I'll take it. Got a little loose on the weekend.

First goal 6 to go

Second goal 22

Third goal 32

Final goal 43

So fat

Woke up. Watched Easter service online.  Made a couple kahlua coffees. Did an Easter egg scavenger hunt for my kid (he doesn't eat candy). Ate a crapload of chips and queso. Cleaned my room. Zoom chatted with an old friend.  Drank a bottle of wine each while we caught up for way longer than i expected.  Played cards online. Drank half gallon of water. Good day.

Back to the grind today.  Yoga and treadmill on the docket.

Is that the one where you let the sun blast your butthole?

Pretty significant lower back discomfort since last night.  Giving it a rest today.  See how it feels tomorrow.

Happy birthday!!  Hope you were able to celebrate somehow, even if not the way you'd usually wish.  I'm glad you've joined us for this time.

90 minutes of bipedal self-propulsion (I wanted to mix up my terms) and yoga today.  I do have a problem with the yoga, which is that one of my roommates interrupts me during many of the sessions.

4/1 - 81

4/2 - 67

4/3 - 62

4/4 - 103

4/5 - 100

4/6 - 86

4/7 - 82

4/8 - 86

4/9 - 88

4/10 - 64

4/11 - 98

4/12 - 115

4/13 - 90

Total:  1122

60 Minute walk and 75 minutes of bipedal self-propulsion if that's what we are calling a bike ride these days.

4/13- 1,465 and I enjoyed my Cadbury Egg tonight and a Nerd Rope...I could eat a whole box of them if you let me.

65 minutes on treadmill after about 10 minute of yoga ended abruptly after alternating interruptions by my wife and kid. I'm counting it.

75 minutes today.  30 total this weekend.

I have a new sense of focus so I will be updating this thread daily - goal is a minimum of 10K steps and one of the exercises mentioned above (or a rest day) every day.

4/13 - 10K+ steps + 10 pull ups

streak is at 3 consecutive days.

Binged on just about everything for a week and a half. Weight up from a low of just under 164 to about 172. I want to maintain at about 167.

Back on strict very low carb diet starting today.
