Almost picked up one of these today: http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-202520220/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053

But they seemed to have some other nice looking grills that seemed decent and were a bunch cheaper. Really I just need fire and some metal, maybe it's not worth the extra money for the Weber stuff?

Like this thing seemed pretty cool, and has charcoal too, and it's cheap: http://www.homedepot.com/Outdoors-Grills-Grill-Accessories/Brinkmann/h_d1/N-5yc1vZbxazZ39n/R-202664595/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053

Also the Charbroil ones seemed decent too, and were also a bunch less expensive. The Weber did feel the most sturdy of the lot...
Highly recommend Weber if you're going to go with a gas grill- last a long time, great warranty, etc. FYI, that grill is a bit cheaper here.

Got some guy off craigslist to swing by today to pick up the crappy plastic patio set they left behind -- new one inbound as we speak. Craigslist is totally awesome.
I've been wanting some patio furniture. Details on what you got?
I made the decision today that I'm going to wait until after summer to buy a set. You can typically get them at least 50% off when they want to clear floor space for other things.I do like the set that Otis got though

O - That half charcoal half gas Brinkman is a knockoff of the Chargriller Duo (available at Lowes). I have the Duo and love it (supposedly it's a bit higher quality than the Brinkman). It's not as much surface space as a full on gas jobber is going to be but it's still got plenty, especially if you go with both fuels at once. As a bonus, the side bruner is the perfect size to nest a charcoal chimney so you can get your charcoal lit in seconds. With that feature, it's pretty rare that I don't choose the charcoal side over the gas.

That one is the best overall grill per Rude's link. A bunch more expensive than the Brinkman, but maybe worth it?

That gets awesome reviews at Amazon but it's a "portable" and seems bunch smaller than most.

webers are great quality. you wont' be disappointed. my genesis silver is an absolute champ.
Thanks. Yeah, think I'm going Weber Genesis E330 with the searing station. :moneybag:
If you can, I suggest visiting THESE GUYS They are also Weber dealers but, they are incredibly helpful and could even point you towards a different brand...

Every time my grill (8 yrs old - Costco buy) has an issue and I think I'm about to buy a new one these guys come up with an easy fix for my old one and say "we're here for you when you need a new one but, your grill is perfectly fine"...

Amazing help that you won't get at the Depot

Figure out the toilet seat yet? Want me to talk you through it? Post a pic and we'll label the parts for you.
No.
1. Lift up the water tank cover and put it on the floor, somewhere out of the way so you won't trip over it2. Insert your giant banana hand into the tank, near the front and right behind the bolt of the removed toilet seat

3. Reach down until you feel an opening towards the front

4. Feel around until you find the bottom tip of the bolt

5. Unscrew the nut around the bolt (careful not to drop it)

6. Remove the bolt from above with your other giant banana hand

What a maroon. :lmao:

What the hell is the hammer for? :lmao:
:goodposting: If the holes don't go right through, like you can't reach the underside, then the nuts should already be anchored. You can't just put the screws in and turn them until tight with your multihead screwdriver? Might want to sterilize the bowl while you've got free access there.

Craigslist is totally awesome.

I think we got this one. These Martha Stewart patio sets are actually pretty comfortable and seem to be at least fairly decent quality. We also liked this particular set as compared with a few others is because it didn't require cushions, which you'd have to take in and out according to the weather. These seems like they'll be lower maintenance. We still need to get an umbrella -- I think the quality of the umbrellas on these isn't great, so we'll get it somewhere else (I saw some sweet ones with internal lighting at Overstock, may go with one of those).
That looks solid. Maybe I'm a cheapskate, but I was hoping for something decent in the $300 range, and everything I find is super low quality.

Words I thought would never come from me: I'll check out these Martha Stewart ones.

We tried this last year and it backfired. Started looking around in late august and all we could find was leftovers and junk nobody wanted.Patio furniture has been surprisingly difficult to conquer.

I think so. Never owned a Brinkman so I can't speak about that but I don't know anyone who has been disappointed with their Weber. I grill all year round and they last forever.

What a maroon. :lmao:
:lmao:
What the hell is the hammer for? :lmao:
:lmao: Ok first of all I can put on a normal toilet seat. This isn't just any toilet seat job. You can't get to the back because the flush system is fixed in place in the tank and it's impossible to reach past it. Everything fits too snugly. Which is why, for this particular toilet, the thieves at Kohler make a special "anchor kit" for 50 bucks. I finally found that today but even that didn't fit properly. But I was able to head over to Ace and pick up some rubber washers and o-rings and make it fit.

Just a little urban ingenuity.

:bowtie:

For a $50 dollar kit, you might as well get a brand new toilet. I think that the ceiling fan looks fine, but I can see if it doesn't match your decor.

Not a bad suburban sunday here. Meh weather, grey and dreary but not rain. Started with an awesome brunch at a good place where our friend bartends / waitresses. A bit of shopping, drop by the grocery store, head back, make some good ### sangria, made dinner and now its time to chill. Flowers are in bloom, green all around - worse ways to spend a day.

PS - Renting has its good points.

Spent another 90 minutes at home depot, and nothing is fixed. I miss calling the super.
:goodposting:This is me. Moving from a 650 square foot apartment in Brooklyn to a 3k+ square foot house with lawn, landscaping, etc. I'm helpless.

Did our first big food shopping at the Stop n' Shop right around the corner today. That place is effing amazing. Are all suburban supermarkets like this? The aisles were huge, they had literally EVERYTHING. The place was so big it was like they ran out of supermarket-type stuff to put on the shelves, so they had to occupy a few aisles with patio furniture, kids toys, a florist, and a Starbucks.

Totally awesome.

I will add that the beer selection at the supermarket is nowhere near as good as the ridiculous selection they had in Brooklyn for all the beer nerds.

OMG THAT'S REALLY HOPPY

They have one of these are our local neighborhood hardware store. Likely pulling the trigger by phone tomorrow, and they'll deliver and put it together free within a couple days. I could probably get it a little cheaper somewhere else, but I'd rather support the local stores -- it's a great hardware store, family owned, and they bailed my ### out with the stupid toilet seat stuff.

BARBECUE AT OATS' PLACE

Oathole 2011.

Give me the jedi tricks with lawn care. What do I need to know? :)

We don't have a lawn mower yet, found a guy to cut for $30 a week so probably just wait until next year for now. I put down Scotts Turf +2 - we had a TON of clovers and stuff which are now dying/dead.

Welcome to the fray, corp.
I should add... 3 separate trips to Lowe's this weekend, and of course Costco. WTF?!No joke, we've spent something like 25k on furniture and still don't have living or dining room done, my office done, or anything other than beds in the guest bedrooms. We finally have a sectional (we wanted leather, bought from Ethan Allen, but took 3+ months). It's comical how empty this place still looks...The upside is we finally have a place for the wine.
