There were also several teams who took him completely off their board. Not an exact science, to be sure.http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/04/26/at-least-seve-teams-had-bruce-irvin-in-top-15/Bruce Irvin went #15 overall. Kiper called it a SHOCKING first-round pick.
Right, but this is the out of nowhere thread. There were also several teams who took him completely off their board. Not an exact science, to be sure.http://profootballta...rvin-in-top-15/Bruce Irvin went #15 overall. Kiper called it a SHOCKING first-round pick.
Your own local paper called it a "stunner."I was using "out of nowhere" in the context of not expecting him to show up in this round. PFT had him in the 1st. Apparently a quarter of NFL teams had him in the top half of the first. I guess you've got a different definition of "out of nowhere" than I do.Your own local paper called it a "stunner."I was using "out of nowhere" in the context of not expecting him to show up in this round. Sounds like youre trying to reason/make excuses for this pick. Without a doubt, Bruce Irvin was 1 of the biggest surprise picks in the 1st round. He may end up being sick, but he was downgraded for character issues. There were a few surprise picks, but Irvin was definitely the earliest.PFT had him in the 1st. They are making a habit of 1st-round surprises. Just ask Nick:http://youtu.be/ynvbg3QzpDMSounds like youre trying to reason/make excuses for this pick. Where have I made an excuse for the pick? I thought we were talking about out of nowhere people. I'm not sure how Irwin is at all out of nowhere.Sounds like youre trying to reason/make excuses for this pick. Without a doubt, Bruce Irvin was 1 of the biggest surprise picks in the 1st round. At least you had a 1st-round pick. <_<They traded down once, then picked the guy they wanted - who wouldn't at all have been there at their next pick. Not really sure how that's out of nowhere, even if it was a surprise.
Sorry chief, but The Washington Post is not a 'local paper' for Washington State.Your own local paper called it a "stunner."I was using "out of nowhere" in the context of not expecting him to show up in this round. LOL... I only noticed the "Washington" part. Everyone did. But when they started showing clips of him and how he absolutely rockets off the snap, I literally said "holy ####!".Bruce Irvin went #15 overall. Kiper called it a SHOCKING first-round pick.
Bruce Irvin is a monster. He played in the 3-3-5 stack last year under Casteel. Bruce has admitted (as has Casteel) that he was not taught how to pass rush. The emphasis of Casteel's defense was contain, bend but don't break. He never really had a chance to be a pure pass rusher and still was a monster. He is a physical freak and we will miss him.Everyone did. But when they started showing clips of him and how he absolutely rockets off the snap, I literally said "holy ####!".Bruce Irvin went #15 overall. Kiper called it a SHOCKING first-round pick.
The only other instant reaction that I've had like that recently was the first time I saw Ndamukong Suh play. You just knew he was a freak.Bruce Irvin is a monster. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=194BLfXfvW8I come from nowhereAnd you should go there
Just try it for awhile
The people from nowhere
Always smile
Their eyes are all frozen over
The sides of their faces pooch out at the corners
Because that's what happens when their mouths turn up
On both sides
Which is why we can tell they're smiling
They never frown
They never let their eyebrows turn down
They like going around with their teeth showing
All the time
They are from nowhere
Your teeth are showing
So maybe you been there
You could have the disease of the nowhere people
Where the air gets stuck all over their gums
When their nowhere lips roll back
For real excitement
They stand still
They shut up
Then they don't do nothing
Out there in nowhere
