Owens in week 12 (1 Viewer)

TO has ranged from solid to spectacular this year, but will play the Jets in week 12. I'd assume Revis will be his escort for the day? If Andre Johnson's performance is any kind of guide, one might consider sitting Terrell down this week. Thoughts?

Rex said this AM that Revis/Cromartie will switch off between TO and Ocho depending on the situation.

He also acknowledged that Revis said himself that he'd be matched up with TO. Rex brushed that off and said it'd depend on the situation.

Who is a hall of famer, TO or Revis?
Neither?
 TO is going down as one of the greatest wr's of all time. I'll probably bench him for VJax...but if I didn't have that elite option I'd think twice about sitting him.ETA - I might end up playing TO but that's only because they're playing Thursday and it's more fun watching the games when I can root for my players.

These two guys beat me too it, but you're certifieable if you think TO isn't going into the HOF. Check the stats dude, better yet watch a game now, he's still a beast now despite being well past his prime. You can't hate the man, but you can't contest his skills, he's an all time great
Well, he's right technically. Neither is in the HOF.But TO will be a first ballot. Revis, not so much.

Its not gonna matter if Carson is on his ### the whole game and can't get a throw off like the last two times they played.

The Jets would be stupid to match up Revis against one guy all game. The last couple weeks Ocho has been the Bengals leading receiver. While T.O. has been the more dominant WR this season, Ocho was also playing hurt. He seems close to 100% again and has been leading the Bengals in receiving.

I don't think either Chad or T.O. will have a dominant day, but I wouldn't worry about Revis shutting either down. Both will get their chances against Cromartie.

(Rotoworld) Darrelle Revis revealed that he will cover Terrell Owens in the Jets' matchup with the Bengals on Thanksgiving.Analysis: Antonio Cromartie will be on Chad Ochocinco, according to Revis. Revis, who's blanketed Andre Johnson (4-32) and Calvin Johnson (1-13) over the past three weeks, held Owens to 31 yards on three grabs in Week 13 of last season. We'd have a hard time playing either wideout in fantasy leagues.
I might go with Tampa Mike this week instead of Owens

Ugh - would love to bench TO but unless you have another solid option (like V Jax) I would roll the dice....Amendola and Bess not doing it for me!

Revis matches up very well against T.O because of how strong Revis is, he had great success jamming him last season. I'm not really seeing the validity of the "who will be a HOF" argument, but I'd sit T.O unless you have no one else.

Quick answer, look what happened to AJ last Sunday.
And Calvin 2 weeks prior to that.Three weeks ago vs. Detroit was the first time the Jets allowed Revis to shadow a receiver all season long due to the hamstring injury. In his first game shadowing, he held Calvin Johnson to 1 receptions for 13 yards. The following week they played Cleveland who doesn't have a serious weapon at the WR position so he didn't shadow anyone and just played the defensive left side. Then last week they allowed him to shadow for the 2nd time all season and he held Andre Johnson to 4 receptions for 32 yards. Two games shadowing + 2 of the PREMIER WRs in the NFL today = 5 total receptions for 45 yards.I love what T.O. has done for me this year, but I'm benching him this week. Others should as well.

I'm a Jets fan as well. Revis is healthy now, bro. You have seen over and over what that means. It is going to be cold on Thursday night and the forecast is calling for rain. Last year in two games vs. the Bengals, Revis held Carson Palmer's #1 receiving threat (Chad Ochocinco) to 2 total receptions for 28 yards. An average of 1 reception for 14 yards per game!Granted I think T.O. is a better all-around WR than Chad, but what makes you think Carson is going to be able to throw on Revis this season when he couldn't come close to doing so last season? Especially in cold, rainy conditions?

I moved TB Mike Williams up from my WR/TE spot to my WR2 spot and moved T.O. to the bench. I'm either starting Jabar Gaffney in my WR/TE spot or a free agent pickup. Yes, I'd rather start Jabar Gaffney in that spot or a free agent pickup over T.O. You should do the same.

Cromartie's been pretty damn good as well. The Jets' issue has been covering TEs and slot/3rd WRs - their safeties and nickel corners have been subpar in coverage.

:goodposting: This one. Cromartie has played very well this year getting back to man-to-man coverage. Although I could see him having more difficulty with T.O. (who should be able to get off of the line against Cromartie) versus Ocho, if the Jets give up major air play, I'd expect it off of receivers other than T.O. or Ocho.

TO is the #3 WR on the year in my league. Can not bench him.
wrong. Revis shut down Calvin and AJ. Project TO to get half his usual yds w/o TD. Then if you have someone else who projects to score more than that, then start the other WR.

Then you will suffer the consequences. If people haven't learned by now, they deserve it. Think about it guys: when is the last time ANYONE has had a good day against a healthy Revis?I remember Moss catching one TD. I remember Jennings having very mediocre stats (but Revis actually played Driver some that game), and I remember Reggie Wayne beating Revis once last year for a sure TD and Manning overthrew him by a mile. Other than that, I remember him shutting down Moss, Q, Wayne, AJ, Colston, Roddy, T.O, Ocho, and Jennings over the past few years. Think McFly...think!

That's about the list. Moss had 9 PPR points on the day he caught that TD as well (talking about last year, not this year when Revis got hurt) and Jennings had 1 catch w/ Revis on him. The only other instance I can think of was Steve Smith (Car) almost made a circus catch for a TD. Other than that, Revis just blankets people.

the browns are playing on a short week afer a dissappointing loss (not to mention season). carson has been up and down. revis is healthy. the jets def is tough all around. given all that, i don't predict a big offensive day for the bengals--maybe a TD and a couple of FGs--to be split among ocho, TO, benson, gersham....

i'll probably bench TO in favor of keiland williams who will at least get touches. not sure if TO will get more than 3 receptions and gresham might be the GL target

On a side note, the play here against the Jets D is Gresham, and he's available in most leagues. The Jets really struggle covering TEs.

Shipley is a nice play in PPR leagues too. Something like 7-89 not out of the question.I love what T.O. is doing this year, but this matchup flat out screams 3-31.

I dont want to turn this into a who do i start but how can you bench a top 5 guy like TO for garbage like Bess and Amendola? Rex has said Revis will roll to a few WRs so maybe he gets some stats with that - I'm not saying dont bench him - I'm saying if you have no other options it may not be a choice

Very true about Shipley. The Jets are normally tough against the run so I'd expect to see the ball in the air a lot. If that's the case, I expect both Shipley and Gresham to have solid days.

Just this week there was a thread about a guy saying the same things you are but regarding Andre Johnson and whether or not he should play Steve Johnson from Buffalo. "How can I not play Andre?"He played Andre (4-32-0), benched Steve Johnson (8-137-3), and lost his game because of it.

I hope you fellow T.O. owners adhered to my warnings and benched Owens. Of T.O.'s 3 catches (for 17 yds), only one came against Revis. The other 2 were against zone defenses.

Revis is 100% back from the hammy. Absolutely do not start opposing teams #1 WRs against the Jets any more. See Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, and now T.O.

I have Owens in 6 leagues and started him in 2 of them I plead insanity and stupidity for playing him.

Revis is one of the top 2 cover corners I've ever seen and has the chance to be better than Primetime.
Couldn't disagree more. Revis is an amazing corner but no way he surpasses Sanders, ever. Maybe on the defensive side of the ball but I have yet to see another corner that brings the same game changing ability as Sanders. The guy never left the field. He'd play 1-3rd down and then play special teams, and was also used sparingly on offense. He doesn't have Sanders game, no comparison.

held my nose and started Amendola over TO....cant see how he can do worse so I guess it was a good call.

Revis is unreal - I was at the game and watched the matchup closely and he was just all over TO....not sure of the Neon comparisons but Revis is young and if he doesnt let his greed get in the way he could be one of the all time greats.

 I benched him for Santonio Holmes (of all people).

 He's the closest thing to Deon since Deon was in his prime. Better than Champ Baily. Better than Ashomougokefdfsdfs-a.
