Ozzy Passes away (5 Viewers)

A good family man, all things considered. Godspeed.

On a personal note, before there was Sportscenter, my friend from my hockey team was way into video cameras and VCRs back in, like, '84 or something. The things were newfangled to the middle class back then. Anyway, the thing I watched on a loop on a VCR on VHS was his spliced together tape of hockey highlights, including some awesome gloves-dropped, bare-knuckle bad asses just throwing down. He used song I've linked below as its score. I'll never forget it. He wound up working for ESPN in production. I think he's still there. Talk about a destiny. That tape was awesome. Ozzy took center stage in the audio department.

And let's not forget his sobriety for the years that he put his family front-and-center with the help (the Herculean help) of his devoted wife Sharon for all those years she was with him.

RIP, you once-intoxicated madman. You battled hard.

Flying high again with the Prince of Darkness. You can talk to Randy again, Ozzy.

that he lived to 76 is a quite a testament to the resilience of the human body. RIP
See also David Crosby making it to 81, Sly Stone making it to 82 and Keith Richards still alive and kicking.
It never hurts your cause to have money, fame, and access to the best doctors either, I'd guess.

Me trying to live that lifestyle would probably have gone differently.

Yep, there is a strong correlation between income level/socioeconomic class and life expectancy.

I wasn't a huge fan, but The Ultimate Sin was a big album for me in Middle School, and of course as I got more into metal Sabbath is essential listening. I also watched my fair share of the MTV show as well. A legend.
