Packers´ Brett Favre has 272 picks, 5 shy of George Blanda´s record (1 Viewer)

And you do have to give credit where credit is due

Packers´ Brett Favre breaks NFL´s all-time completion record (4,968).
Think of how many he'd have if completions to guys in the wrong uniform counted.
Thats good and all but how long do we have to listen to this retirement crap. Just retire already. Favre is done and there are many QB's that can outplay him
I was at the game tonight so I was unable to watch what was on the tv but did Favre actually say anything about retiring? I ask because I did not hear the tv so I am wondering if Favre mentioned anything about it.
Nope, never said anything about it and didn't speak after the game...
So, you are telling me Favre has not mentioned "retiring" at all? That is weird because someone wrote they were fed up with all the retirement talk yet Favre has not mentioned it. I must have read that wrong.
Its been asked by the media over and over again, and he just replies by saying he'll have to talk it over with his family. He never brings it up, the media won't quit hounding him about it. I don't think he'll wait as long this year tho, he hurt the team last year by doing that. It hurt the draft decisions.

He'll be back. He wants the td record, and loves to play. We can resurrect this thread after he breaks the INT record in game 2 next year.
I agree that he wants the TD record. However I think he would love more than anything to make the playoffs. The team will likely finish 8-8 this year and be on the way up. I can't see him putting up with two lousy years, to not reap the benefits. They will have some money to spend this offseason. Their D-line is solid, their cornerbacks are great. In todays NFL, thats the start of a good defense. He needs lots of help on offense though. Before this year I dont think anybody felt Driver was a #1 receiver. He is playing great, but he is their only option. However, this O-line is much improved and should only get better. Koren Robinson will be a nice addition, a healthy Jennings should help too. If they can get one more option on offense, I will be very excited about this team.
No way the Bears lose that last game. It will be Favre's last game. They will hurt him.
254 other opposing teams thought the very same thing...

The Javon Walker situation was definitely not ideal, but I can't see how you think it was despicable. Favre basically said that he thought what Walker was doing was wrong and that Walker should come back to the team. If there is one thing that people have found fault with in Favre's character, it's that he's honest to a fault. Was he supposed to say he supported Walker when he was hurting the team? I don't know that there's anything Favre could have said or done to make that situation turn out any better, and I'm not sure what you're expecting from him. I don't believe his comments prevented Walker from returning to the team or prevented the team from getting better compensation for Walker in trade.
No, he was supposed to keep his mouth shut. There's an unspoken rule in the NFL that you just don't take sides when it comes to contract disputes. Especially when you've made far more money over the course of your career than anyone else on the team probably ever will.
Certainly it follows that you feel Brady and Urlacher are even more "despicable" than Favre, since they not only took their opinions to the press on the Branch and Briggs contracts, but unlike Favre, they both took positions contrary to their team's interests.
 Please compare and contrast Brady's comments about Branch to Favre's comments about Walker.

Despite his younger age, Brady is already a better leader than Favre.

Based on what? More Championships? Brady also has had the better talent and the best coach in the NFL to assist him with all those Championships..The talent surrounding Favre the last 5 years has been, well lets just say less than stellar..

Probably based on the part of Borat's post that you edited out, when you quoted him.
Please compare and contrast Brady's comments about Branch to Favre's comments about Walker.

What I edited out wasn't that significant, thats why I edited it out. He simply asked to contrast the comments between the two situations. I don't agree with how Favre handled the Walker situation, but that doesn't mean he's a piss poor leader. Brady didn't say one single word about Branch's situation? I don't have time to research it or I would.

You criticize Favre for taking sides and breaking the "unspoken rule" in contract diputes. Obviously Brady did the Patriots no favor when he publicly took Branch's side in a contract dispute. I'm sure Branch's agent was thrilled with Brady's comments, Pioli not so much. Urlacher recently did the same thing with Lance Briggs in the Chicago media. All these guys should probably keep their mouths shut, but at least Favre supported his team rather than undermining their position. Favre gets raked over the coals for what he did, but there is no criticism of Brady or Urlacher and they are actually applauded for supporting their teamates, which is absurd. As for who is the "better leader", I have no idea and neither do you.

I'm going to disagree with that again. Favre sided with "management", not with "team".Team = players + management

Favre stated Walker should be with the team and uphold his contract. Why is Favre getting ragged on for saying this stuff? The only reason is because the media blew it way out of proportion and Walker showed his immaturity in the whole ordeal. Not to mention the sheep that follow said media and their tales.
