Packers at Seahawks (2 Viewers)

Seriously Seahawks fans, it's cool to be excited about a win. But there is no way you deserved this victory.
Not a Seahawks fan but I live here and I agree. The problem is the officiating is so bad it affects the outcome of games too many times over to know who would win in a Legitimate contest. Someone in here posted that regardless of who wins it would be illegitimate. He was right. Wipe this and about half the games played thus far off the books.
Well at the end of the season in the standings, there isn't a "deserved to win" column.

No disagreement. But really, the last 5 minutes had 3 game-changing plays in favor of Seattle, and all 3 were bad calls. Absolutely brutal. The entire NFL should be embarrassed by this.

Seriously Dr D? You're one of my favorite posters, but trying being a man about this.

make up call for Super Bowl XL.

Just saw the replay again. Looks like Tate lost possession when his right hand came off the ball. I think that breaks the "tie"

Fun Fact: Before becoming replacement refs most of these guys were cops in the Grand Theft Auto universe.

Oh they screwed it up. The replacement refs just cost the Packers the game. The NFL is so screwed.
nope. correct calltate had both hands on the ball so it is technically a "tie" and a tie goes to the offense
A former NFL ref disagreed with you.
Yep, he said there was no joint possession. Tate had a hand on the ball, but that doesn't constitute possession.
as the president of the united states, i stand by my claim  i dunno, looks like join possession to me. he had both hands on the ball. didn't look like much of a grip though

I've watched the play over and over, and it's still a touchdown to me (and I don't have a dog in this fight). Jennings hadn't established possession yet (because you have to complete the catch, feet down) when Tate got his hand on the ball. I think it's clearly simultaneous possession.

Obviously I'm in the minority here, but I think it was the correct call.

Regardless, I'm glad it's being considered a bad call, because it may FINALLY be the thing that gets the real refs back.

Well...just when you thought it could not get any worse.
And it gets worse. How can they not overturn that? Pretty clearly an INT.
It couldn't be overturned because the simultaneous catch part (and the pass interference part) are not reviewable. The only way for it to be overturned would be if the ball hit the ground, or if Jennings stepped out of bounds, or something like that.

Seahawks lost that game. What a joke.

not only that, TATE had a clear PI there as well. Seahawks have no respect from me.

:lmao: thanks for bringing me a chuckle. :)

I can understand thinking it was simultaneous possession in real time. (thought I can NOT understand missing that pass interference, the most blatant I've ever seen)

But they had a chance to make it right with the replay!!! What happened!?!??

is that true?
yes. the rule itself is kind of stupid, but that is the rule. the refs made the right call.
No, they didn't. As mentioned by the ex-NFL ref on the show and multiple people in this thread Tate clearly only has one hand in the mix and then starts fighting for the ball. Tirico just said it again that Jennings had the ball first and then Tate fought for it. It was pretty clear from the replay that Jennings has it and Tate is falling back waiving his right hand and then goes after the ball.

The amazing thing is everyone is here is going to bash the refs.....AND IT"S THE 100% RIGHT CALL
NO, it's not. Jennings controlled it first therefore it was not simultaneous.Secondly, the PI call on Shields and no-call on Tate's pushoff were AWFUL.Just AWFUL. Shameful display tonight.

That extra point just cost/won a game in the league I commission.

This should be fun tomorrow. Maybe I just turn the ringer off.

All kidding aside it seemed to be an INT, but a lot of teams don't deserve to win games and they do anyway. Something being "deserved" is subjective and not all that tangible in sports.

INSANE!

The billionaire NFL owners are trying to break the ref union with these worthless scabs so they can save a couple of hundred thousand dollars.

IS IT WORTH IT YOU SCUM BILLIONAIRES?????????

IS IT WORTH IT??????????????

Tirico: "Packers will have one of their worst flights home ever."

Obviously, he didn't see the Eagles game yesterday.
