Packers Close To Deal W/Raiders for Moss (1 Viewer)

Why?? I think it really comes down to the real feeling the Packers have about Rogers. The only way this makes sense is they don't see him as the future replacement of Favre and therefore are getting a Could again be a Star WR and a decent TE for someone they are not high on.Big question will be; were the last 3 years of an Often Injured Moss the Moss that the Pack end up with or will the Previous Moss show up?Last Year Packer fans thinking of Moss = :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: This year if he is a Packer = :pickle:Funny how a player can go from scum in a city to a fan favorite in less than a year. Of course if the Moss of the last 3 years shows up and Rodgers turns out to be a decent QB there could be a lot of  :hot: Packer Fans. :banned:
Disgruntled much? :whoosh:
I think so too, as is Andy Dufresne.First, every fan would react the same. You telling me if Favre wound up in a Viking uniform this year the Viking fans wouldn't cheer him?Second as to the Packer fans thinking of Moss this year (If GB lands him) as opposed to his years in Oakland, well as a friend of mine says "Part of being a fan is believing Elvis is alive." How very true, especially in this case.

:boxing: Just trying to figure out what your post meant?Who do you think is getting screwed, the Pack or the Raiders? As for Moss; Yea I think the Vikings Messed up that situation roayaly. At the same time he is 30 years old, hasn't played a complete season without injury for what 3 or 4 seasons. He returns to his previous form and plays all 16 games he will be a force to be reconed with.

I wasn't riping on Packer fans.. If that is how it was taken I humbly Apoligize.I was making a statement on sports fans as a whole. If a player plays for another team he sucks and is worthless, but if he is on your team he can do no wrong.

Oddly enough, KC Joyner (on his ESPN chat) seemed to be saying that the Packers were getting taken on this deal. His thoughts were that Moss is old, broken down and deteriorating. (My words).

I just don't see it that way. Of course, I don't get paid to conduct ESPN chats.

If I was GB I would not give up a first round pick for him

They are not.Rodgers was a 1st round pick...that status at this point means absolutely nothing.

so can we assume if Oakland trades Moss for Rogers than C. Johnson will be the #1 pick

That is the assumption yes.

I think the Raiders would be wise to get anything for Moss. He has a negative impact on the team with that huge cap number. To say they are getting fleeced on any deal is not looking at the big picture. If Moss was a free agent and wouldn't sign for less than $8 million...how many teams do you think would want to sign him? 2? Maybe? I'd say 0. He's just not worth that big cap number. At all. He'd be a great player to add at $2 million with incentives. At $8 million he's just horrible, horrible value.

Lost in alot of the links with Thompson denying the trade were some strange words by Rodgers...

Rodgers said when reached on his cell phone that he had been advised not to comment. But Rodgers did say no one from the Packers called him Thursday to reassure him he was not going to be traded, and that the only calls he received were from "interested friends."

I don't think that's strange. Either the Pack told him to be quiet b/c it is team policy to not let anoyone other then Favre comment on potential moves. Or his agent told him to shut up so as to not jeopardize his chances to get a starting job back on the west coast.

I find it strange that with all the denial he would actually say he was advised not to comment rather than saying I don't care to comment...
