Packers/Colts (1 Viewer)

I thought the Colts' defense looked pathetic..guys were open all over the field, the run defense wasn't 'all that', either.

Manning is going to be sacked a LOT this season, they hurried him and rushed him quite a bit last night...I also think his INT totals will go up - he still has happy feet when pressured up the middle..

The Colts offense has a problem with run blocking..take away that Addai run to start the game, and the Colts were something like 20 att, 30 yards.total.oof..I know they're missing big name guys like Saturday, but he's out indefinitely..

I think the Colts RB's move quite a few notches down this season - this team was in the bottom third in rush yards last season, that does not look like it will improve, in fact, it will probably worsen.

Garcon looked incredible, I think he's going to have a big year...he was targeted quite a bit , and was also set for a few bombs coming his way , if not for a blitzing defense that forced Manning to either check-down or throw it away...this happened on a few plays where Manning was targeting Garcon..sneaky good sleeper WR this year!

1st half thoughts as Im just now starting to watch the 2nd half.

Packer O: Ridiculous again...yes, its preseason and they were good last year too. But if the line holds up and Rodgers continues to recognize the coverage and the blitzes so well, they are just going to be scary good. Grant was running well til the big hit then fumble. Jackson looked pretty good til his fumble too. Not much else to say about Finley, just a beast. Someone thought Driver was losing a step? He looked fine to me. And Jones looked pretty good tonight too.

Packer D: Could be some track meets if Harris starts on the PUP. I like Tramon, but he falls for double moves too often (granted, he was against some of the best out there). Miscommunication on that first TD was not good though. Its also interesting that they have seemed to blitz more in the 2nd quarter than early on which seemed to help. But prior to this game (and Im not sure about if they did in this game either) Capers had only brought 5 on like 20ish% of the plays this year and had not brought 6 I don't think. I think this will change come the season. But they need to force more pressure to help take the pressure off the DBs. Also note, at times Shields was out there on the edge at corner, looks like they wanted to test him some over the guys that are above him on the depth chart. After Collins trying to work with Burnett on that first TD, I like what both did at safety the rest of the night. Collins made some very good plays as did Burnett and he got the pick.

Colts O: Manning is freaking unbelievable still in what he can do. I like Garcon and Wayne looked pretty good tonight too.

Colts D: Sanders is just ridiculous. But when they don't get the pass rush out of their ends, they are very vulnerable (like most teams are).
That was me. And my comment was in reference to the two deep balls that got tossed his way. They both landed close to 10yds in front of him. While Manning could have been *off* it's more likely that Driver isn't able to get underneath the long ball like he used to. I agree he still looked plenty quick enough and sure-handed enough underneath to be a consistent force. I just think he's lost a step - which is to be expected at his age coming off knee surguries. It doesn't matter though. Hines Ward has lost a step as well, but he still finished as a top 15 WR last year.
