Thursday, August 10, 2006Favre completes pass from his knees Odds and ends from Thursday night's practice:* Quarterback Brett Favre slipped while dropping back to pass but still managed to fire a bullet from his knees to running back Samkon Gado.

RB Ahman Green made the next step in his recovery last night, practicing in pads for the first time since being injured last fall. Green, who missed most of last season with a ruptured quadriceps, broke a couple of impressive runs early in the workout, and even threw a long halfback pass to WR Calvin Russell. The drills did not call for live tackling, but Green still went tumbling to the ground on one running play and got back up immediately. He also took part in a pass-rush blocking drill.

I feel bad for this franchise right now. Favre still has no one to throw to outside of #2 WR Donald Driver. Green was mediocre well prior to his injury. Gado hurt his groin & I question whether he'll be in the league in a year. Davenport looked sluggish running in game 1. Herron is a PS guy.

The present and the future of this offense flat out sucks.

Driver is the number 1 receiver. Not sure where the number 2 talk comes from as he's finished in the top 10 in the NFL in receiving yards the last 2 seasons.

Read the Jennings thread.

The present looks great if people can stay healthy. It all hinges on the OL... which looked pathetic in the first game.
