Pain in groin area (1 Viewer)

MC Gas Money

Footballguy
Last night it took me 4 hours to go to sleep because I had a shooting pain in my groin. It is on the right side, a couple of inches above my genitals in the seam where my thigh meets the torso.

Woke up today and the pain is duller and it cones and goes. I have not done any unusual or excessive physical activity lately. My first thought was gas but it is on the inside of the hip socket.

What could this be?

Serious question. Its not ball cancer.

I think.

I predict it is a complete tear of your sartorius muscle - there is zero chance you will be running in the Kentucky Derby. Preakness? Maybe.

Wait, this sounds vaguely familiar - as if I read it in a Penthouse Forum years ago:

I was in my kitchen, minding my own business getting ready to eat some french fries I bought at the diner around the corner. As usual, they forgot to put ketchup in the bag, probably because the girl behind the counter kept eyeing me in a way that beckoned "Come to me." As I was late to my sanitation test, I walked away, but the walk home was fueled by the thought of what I had missed, but the longing was there.

I couldn't find the ketchup bottle, and to my dismay the bottle was in the fridge, put there by a mother in law who consistently ignores my wishes. At that moment, she walks in.

I never noticed before, but the way the sunlight hit her hair brought back memories of the first time I laid eyes on her daughter. She purrs to me: "I know you like it warm, but I prefer it cold." The way she said it ignited a sensation in my groin. I stammered back, "Maybe you would like it warm if you tried it."

Strained groin?
It just showed up out of nowhere. I didnt even go out all day yesterday. I was home drawing.
I think you have hip flexor pain, it is often confused as groin pain.
I get pain in my hip flexors. It cannoy be confused with groin pain..

Hip flexor pain is usually felt in the upper groin region, where the thigh meets the pelvis.

Kidney stone. No joke. Be prepared for a lot more pain as the stone moves through your body.
This. My first and only (about 6 months ago) started with pain one Monday night and nothing from Tuesday morning till Thursday mid morning...same pain started again and just go worse. I went to the ER about 2PM and went home from there about 11PM. Took me a long time to pass the stone with very brief bouts of pain that wasn't nearly as bad after the ER visit. Dr. says I have another stone in the other kidney but no pain or anything so far.

Shouldnt the pain be getting worse?
Was explained to me that there are 3 places in the tube (don't remember the name) from the kidney to the bladder that narrow and that is where you get the pain from. The first pain is it either getting into position to pass the first narrow portion or actually passing this spot (this is where you will go to the ER for lots of drugs), then it can be weeks before it passes the next narrow spot.

If it gets stuck or starts blocking the tube you might need surgery to remove it.

overexerted yourself at the NYC garbageman's exam.
It was the written exam and that was on sunday
There's a physical exam too? Please tell me they run it like Wiperout. "And MC Gas Money is really carrying that trash, He hurdles the hobo and does a nifty spin move to get away from the feral cat. Oh no! The garbage bag has torn open!! That's gonna cost him!"

Just went out walking for almost an hour. Doesnt hurt now but im feeling more pressure and tightness in the spot
If the pain moves to the lower back it is probably a kidney stone. Hope for your sake it is just a pulled muscle of some sort.
I would be very surprisednif it was a stone. I drink a lot of fluids and pee at least ten times a day along with eating a very healthy diet.

And yes I did get checked for diabetes years ago because of the excessive urination. Doc said im fine and either have a small and/or nervous bladder or very efficient kidneys.

It's a third ball that never fully developed. I heard it happened to a friend of a friend back in high school.

Never had a stone before myself (48 at the time) and I drink 2 cups of coffee in the morning and water the rest of the day.

I generally eat well, don't drink sodas and not much alcohol anymore. I was told mine were caused because of something in peanuts, red meat and coffee. Don't remember the term but it is the same thing that causes gout.

I drink a lot of coffee. About a pot per day. Peanuts make up a semi-significant part of my diet.

Rarely eat red meat. I do eat a lot of cheese though. My consumption went way up since I started going to Aldi. I eat roughly a half pound a day

Your body produces uric acid when it breaks down purines — substances that are found naturally in your body, as well as in certain foods, such as steak, organ meats and seafood. Other foods also promote higher levels of uric acid, such as alcoholic beverages, especially beer, and drinks sweetened with fruit sugar (fructose).

Normally, uric acid dissolves in your blood and passes through your kidneys into your urine. But sometimes your body either produces too much uric acid or your kidneys excrete too little uric acid. When this happens, uric acid can build up, forming sharp, needle-like urate crystals in a joint or surrounding tissue that cause pain, inflammation and swelling.

Just a lab test to test the uric acid at your doctors office.
