I only voted 'panic' on Crabtree because I wasn't a fan in the first place.

Jackson and that whole QB situation could be ugly, but he got a lot of targets.

Fitz had 15 targets

240 targets for the year

Yeah he only caught 3 of them but DA was 22/41 overall. Give Fitz a 50% catch rate and thats 120 receptions.

 ))))

Anyway- yesterday was atrocious and Fitz finished with 3/43/1 so he didn't kill you.

Funny thread considering my main redraft league has 3 wr's (calvin, crabtree and Malcom floys) while my rb's are (Best, spiller, green, felix)...im panicking hard, gonna be a rough season...I was so stoked after our auction draft too

i was actually seeing week 1 as an incredibly good sign for fitz not a negative. desean is a clear panic. crabtree is probably a panic because i know hes got a history of being a baby or whatever.

calvin johnson had 70 and a td hes fine.

I would definitely be concerned about Desean and Crabtree.

Desean has Kolb (and Vick) throwing to him, which is a small concern, and has to deal with Maclin being more heavily involved. DNabb throws a great deep ball, and that is the primary reason Desean broke out last season. Take away even half of his long TD's, and he is nothing special fantasy wise. I think he'll be lucky to top 6 TDs this season.

Crabtree, I just think that passing offense is going to be very inconsistent (and generally not very good). The talent is there in spades for Crabtree, the surrounding cast, particularly at the QB position, is not. On top of that, he'll be competing with Davis (and Gore, even) for what little piece of the passing game there is to go around. The offense simply won't support a stud TE, a stud WR, and a RB who is heavily involved.

Calvin and Fitz, I'm not too worried about.

Calvin in particular will be fine. He SHOULD have had 70ish yards and 1 TD--while not great, it's perfectly solid--and if you told me I'd get 13 points per week from my WR1, I'd be very happy. I think the bad call will actually help Calvin--it will light a fire under his ###, as I think he's out to prove he's the real deal, and we should expect him to put up beastly numbers from here one out.

With Fitz, there was concern from the get go. After yesterday's game, we don't have any reason to add to that concern. He could certainly have a down year by his standards, but if you drafted him as WR8 instead of WR3, you won't be disappointed. It's clear as day that he and Anderson have no timing to speak of, yet he still managed 40+ yards and a TD, and he had a whopping 15 targets! Expect Derek to continue to look his way early and often, and as they start to find a rhythm, those targets will start leading to more receptions and yards. He should put up his usual 10+ TDs, but may suffer mildly in the reception/yardage category--though not enough to knock him out of the top 10, as many are predicting.

Fitz and Calvin will be fine. Once Anderson and Fitz get in sync he will start putting up big numbers. His knee will keep getting stronger each week too. As for Calvin, Hill was looking his way a lot. I don't see any drop off for him at all. The Lions are going to need to throw 40 balls per game to keep up.

Take away even half of his long TD's, and he is nothing special fantasy wise.
Don't do that man.. please.
Um, why not? We're talking about this year, not last year. And last year Desean had an exorbitant amount of long TDs, something I don't see him coming close to replicating. Sure, he was a beast last year, but this, my friend, is not last year.If you want to predict that he'll be getting 50+ yard TD's left and right, again, be my guest. All I'm sayin' is, it ain't happenin'.

No... what I'm saying is don't be the guy who says "take away those long TD's..." He SCORED THEM... they can't be taken away. They're his stats now...This has nothing to do with what he will or won't do now... unless you mean if he scores only half the amount of long TDs this season... then ok.but saying last season, IF he didnt score those long TDs, he's nothing special... that's when it's unacceptable

Uh, yeah, I get what you're saying. Perhaps you don't get what I'm saying. Read my post carefully and you'll see I'm doing nothing to take away from what he accomplished.... last year.

I edited my post right before you replied.
Word. Yeah, I'm saying that this season, I think he'll be lucky go score half the amount of TD's he scored last season, and thus he will be nothing specialI gladly admit that he was a beast last season.

He had two really good games last year with Kolb as QB. He'll be fine. He's not a 80+ catch type guy who is going to give week to to week consistency. Calvin will be fine but relative to him being a top 5 drafted WR in most drafts it's at least a little downer he's going to have a QB switch. I mean for instance if I had him rated over Miles Austin and Brandon Marshall on Saturday, which I did, I don't today. On Fitz I did not see his game yet so just going off of what I read. How long is he going to wear that brace? He's admitting that knee is not right yet. Anderson has always been erratic and Fitz is not going to get 15 targets every week especially when Wells returns to resurrect the running game. Not 100% healthy, bad QB play and a team committed to trying to run the ball more. Relative to were he was drafted I'd be a little concerned but it's really all about health. If he gets his knee right he'll be fine. If Braylon Edwards can shine with DA so can Fitz.Crabtree is most concerning. His attitude bites and the Vernon Davis dust up did not help. Might have made it worse. Some people respond to a Singletary type approach and some don't. So far not looking like Crabtree is responding to this kind of treatment and does not seem mentally in the game. Alex Smith seems to know this and until Crab's changes his attitude he's going to continue to play a very distant second fiddle to Vernon.

Panic on Crabtree.

Not worried about Desean or CJ. Desean was never a consistent scorer, he has some clunkers, and some huge games. I will be worried of Vick starts for more than a couple weeks though.

I wasnt a fan of Fitz before the year started, and he has done nothing to change my thinking.

I be very worried about CJ. Hill at QB is a reason to be worried
calvin only had 1 target in the first half from stafford. hill came in and looked to him constantly. talentwise, its a dropoff from stafford, but hill has real game experience and actually played decently in a horrid san fran offense a few years back. there are other offensive weapons to keep teams from locking in on CJ all game on defense. if hill targets CJ 15+ times a game, he should haul in at least 5 of them and CJ is talented enough to snag a couple balls that may not be thrown as well as if stafford were throwing them. I wouldn't be too worried.
