Panthers vs. Dolphins (1 Viewer)

I looked at the nfl.com stats, how did the following folks look tonight?

Culpepper

R Brown

D Williams

Foster

Chambers has a tuddy and some yards, looks good..

After seeing the Panthers D get torched through the air again today (200+ yards passing by Culpepper & Joey), it seems the Panthers D is same as last year. Great against the run but stinks against the pass. I remember Grossman ripping this defense up in the playoffs last year.....

Chambers looked great. Some sick catches, had one TD called back, and is constantly targetted.DWill looked very good too. Has great speed and shiftiness. Ran a Kickoff back for TDRonnie caught the ball well, passed for a 20 yd pass too. However, I worry about his run production because his OL looked very bad. Agreed this is Panthers DL, but there was a jail break on almost every run play with people in the backfield from all sides. Be careful with Ronnie, especially if you plan to take him over more sure fire RBs like Tiki B, Edge, SJax and Rudi Culpepper had some bad throws but looked decent all over. He targetted both of his WRs and his TE a lot, and threw to Ronnie too. But Panthers D was bad against the pass last year too, so not sure what to make yet of it.

Thanks for the update.

Not watching the game. Delhomme's stats look horrible and the posts suggest he is horrible. What is his problem? Does he suck? Fins DL getting pressure? Good coverage? WRs not gettign open without Smith around to pull quad-coverage. Yuck. Making Aaron Brooks look good.

Looks like Chambers could have a monster year this year - maybe a Randy Moss (in his prime) type season - 15 TD, 1400 yards.

Just saw this on the wire. Anyone hear anything about C-Pep getting hurt.

Dolphins O-Line was overmatched

YES

Dante is looking recovered, but still throwing high.

YES

Carolina DB's still struggling with the man-to-man aspects of their D - Carolina front 7 remains beasts

NO...THE LBS AREN'T COVERING SHORT ROUTES

Jake D looking a little off.

A LITTLE, BUT NOT SIGNIFICANT.

D Will has talent - looking like a good return man

I COULD HAVE RUN THAT KICK BACK.

Sounded like the Pathers O-line performed well.

NOPE.

The Panther O Line DIDN'T perform? I was giving some leeway since I think the Fins have an exceptional Defense. That actually surprises me a little. Hmm.

Sounded like Diggs went down early, so it doesnt surprise me that the LB pass D suffered a little. Im sure J Fox can straighten that out quick enough though.

Thank you.

These pre-season threads crack me up. Based on nothing players shoot up or down entire rounds.

Good stuff! Two days from now when people forget this game all adp's will remain the same, and rightfully so.

So wait, I should accept this guys offer and trade Ronnie Brown straigt up for Reggie Wayne now? :D

Ronnie Brown with a 21 yard pass  So Ronnie can catch and throw, but cannot run :bag:
Finally someone that is watching the game. Ronnie CANNOT run. he should be dropped down to the RB tier 15 to 20...
dude you dont know anything about fantasy football so go in a corner and lick a lollypop
Ok I didnt see the game. SO all this back and forth about how Brown can or cannot run is worrying me a bit. Can someone explain why he couldnt run? Was it the OLine or was it Ronnie himself? Was it the Panthers D against an unprepared or unmotivated O Line? Were the Dolphins actually calling real plays for him or just having him go at the line a bit? Is it somthing Ronnie is doing that can't be fixed? I saw him run last year, he did pretty well IMO, so did he forget how to? Or is he just not the VISIONARY back many claim Caddilac is? Will he be a lousy RB in the NFL? Well, please explain a little more. I missed it!

The Miami line was overmatched. Plain and simple.

That's what I was hopeing. Fox Sports posted this blurb. Not sure how good they are but makes sense.News: Ronnie Brown rushed for 27 yards on 13 carries and had a catch for 20 yards during Thursday night's preseason loss to Carolina.Impact: The Dolphins are juggling their offensive line, trying to find the right mix. Brown should be a top-five PPR back in 2006. (Fri. Aug 25, 2006)

decenthe was 14 for 19, 130 yards.

The game was a defensive battle last night.

Some observations I made about the Panthers and the Fins

1) Delhomme was bad. He was floating passes and missing guy's. But it is preseason. Steve Smith did not play so that did not help at all, and they need him or they are toast in the passing game.

2) Deshaun Foster looks like he will be a good power runner with the speed to go to the house anywhere on the field. He also has soft hands. Foster is primed for a big year.

3) I am one who has not been impressed with DeAngelo Williams. However he does have immense talent and is electric. What I do not like about him is he can not run with power. If he does not make someone miss he is going down. His game is all wiggle and speed, which is not a bad thing, but in the NFL you have to be able to run over people too or at least be able to take on would be tacklers sometimes. I don't see this in Williams. What I do see is someone who will be a great change of pace back for the Panthers and someone who can keep Foster fresh. Foster if healthy is the primary back hands down. Williams kick return was great but he was not even touched. A great wedge by the Panthers and horrendous coverage by the Dolphins all night

4) Daunte Culpepper will have a very good year. No doubt last season was a freak thing. This guy is an elite talent. By mid-season he will be looking like his old self.

5) Chambers is ready to be an elite WR. That's no secret and he will finsish in the top 8 this season again.

6) McMichael will have a career year.

7) The Panthers defense are vunerable against the pass. It is a fact.

8) The Dolphins secondary was not tested last night. No Steve Smith and Delhomme as stated earlier was atrocious. This is the Fins achilles heal and will burn them this season. I hope Travis Daniels can recover from his high ankle sprain because we are thin at CB. Will Allen put on a clininc tackling with that 3&1 stuff of DeAngelo Williams.

9) Keyshawn will be a major upgrade at the WR2 spot and should help Steve Smith strectch the field even more this season. Keyshawn will kill defenses all year underneath. He was a very key pickup for Carolina.

Carlolina will be Super Bowl Contender no doubt. The Dolphins are a playoff team this year if the secondary works itself out. The OL play will be fine. They improved dramaticaly last season and they should this year as well. They were up against the best front 4 in the league IMO.
