Past Snowy games (1 Viewer)

I'm looking for a list of games played in similar bad snow and sleet type conditions and how players performed. Say like a boxscore for the 2001 playoff game between the Pats and Raiders.

I have some tough lineup choices and some of them are on the defensive side of the ball.

So if you can think of any games that were played in similar weather. Can you please list them.

Thanks in advance

packers/Broncos had a monday nighter in the snow. I think it was in 1983. packers produced a ton of offense if I remember but were kept out of the endzone but twice due to the weather. If memory serves the Broncos won 17 to 14, with all Bronco points coming as a direct result of turnovers.

Oakland played in Denver 2 or 3 years ago on either a Sunday or Monday night, and Ronald Curry and Jerry Porter just went off for huge games. People say snow limits scoring. I say the opposite. It favors the offense. Unless there's really high winds.

Snow will not be the factor here in N.E.The driving rain + occasional wind gusts will be the issue. All and all I don't think the conditions will be that bad.

Wind is the factor all accross the NorthEast today. I would not consider starting a kicker in any of those games. QBs are iffy. Still, I dont see how you can sit Brady for anyone.

This information was published in the Boston Herald this week.

The Pats are 9-0 all-time in snow games in Foxboro. Here’s a look at their history in the white stuff, including quarterback Tom Brady [stats]’s performances in those wins:

# Dec. 4, 2005 - 16-3 win over the Jets

Brady: 27-for-37, 271 yards, 0 TDs, 0 INTs

# Jan. 16, 2005 - 20-3 playoff win over the Colts

18-for-27, 144 yards, 1 TD, 0 INTs

# Jan. 18, 2004 - 24-14 playoff win over the Colts

22-for-37, 237 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT

# Dec. 14, 2003 - 27-13 win over the Jaguars

22-for-34 att, 228 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs

# Dec. 7, 2003 - 12-0 win over the Dolphins

16-for-31, 163 yards, 0 TDs, 0 INTs

# Jan. 19, 2002 - 16-13 overtime playoff win over the Raiders

32-for-52, 312 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT

# Dec. 4, 1983 - 7-0 win over the Saints

# Dec. 12, 1982 - 3-0 win over the Dolphins

# Dec. 10, 1978 - 26-24 win over the Bills

Wind is what matters. Snow turning to rain can be too. Often after snow storms the weather is calm and not a factor. So the issue should be is the storm over or continuing. Todays games are during storms.

Exactly. People, including the ESPN talking heads, keep focusing on the rain/snow. They are predicting sustained 25-35 mph winds in Foxboro, for instance. Anyone know how some of the stadiums involved handle the wind? I know some are better than others.

I agree with others that you can over-think it in these situations, but high winds and field goals don't mix. Gostkowski is my kicker in 3 leagues, so I'm strongly considering switching him in the leagues where it's allowed.

I thought the wind gusts for the Monday night game in Balt were in the same range. I think you can use that as a point of reference.

This is why I like Welker so much. Brady will throw quick hitters today and that is Welker's fortay.
Well, technically it's his forte, but I digress. This isn't directed at your point, but I love the comic overreaction that happens in the Pool surrounding events like bad weather. Should be a fun afternoon of people whining about their studs going off when they benched them.
