Curious what the consensus is on the use of these words.  I prefer leapt, dove, and shone but the others seem to be more commonly used.

Perhaps I'm thinking of light when I say to use 'shone'.  In cases where you making things shiny I would use 'shined' (the car shined when I was finished waxing it).
