Pat Angerer (1 Viewer)

Not terrible, but certainly not what we were hoping for. Cincy threw so much to TO, the dumpoffs didn't come until late in the game with Gresham, and at that point, it seemed like Angerer was dropping deeper in coverage. I only saw parts, but I wasn't overly impressed with Angerer.

Also, pretty disappointed that Bethea has played deeper and deeper last few games. He's a far better tackler than Francisco, but I guess much better in coverage too.

whats the status fo Brackett and Session this weekend... Angerer starting this weekend?
Session and Brackett Ruled Out
Five of the Colts’ 11 “questionable” players are now considered out.

The team downgraded running backs Joseph Addai and Mike Hart, linebackers Gary Brackett and Clint Session, and cornerback Justin Tryon to out on Saturday after the five players didn’t travel with the team to Foxborough.

Rotoworld:

Colts LB Gary Brackett (turf toe) was ruled out for Week 11.

Cody Glenn will draw the start at MLB, and won't present a significant downgrade in talent over a gimpy Brackett. As the Colts will be thin at linebacker, BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Danny Woodhead get slight boosts in their already-tasty matchups as an RB2 and RB3, respectively.

 Cody Glenn drawing the start over Angerer?! How deflating. So then Angerer will be manning the strong-side, though he'll probably still play in the nickel.

the guy had 2 tackles last week, and w/ the way the Pats use 3 WR sets is Angerer going to be on the field much if hes not the MLB?

I think the only safe play is Hagler

Can't be true, everyone else says he'll start at MLB and be part of nickel. Should get plenty of tackles.

To close a loop I'm covering in the Sunday AM thread, I think there's very little to the report about Angerer's illness.

He's not on the injury report (despite a report he didn't practice with an illness -- that was last week), he made the team flight and Phil Wilson of the Indy Star told me he looked just fine this weekend.

with 9 tackles, yes he did. he's still sitting on my taxi squad but with his play and FBG's high ranking this week I'm strongly considering promoting him.

From weeks 8-11 Angerer is the 23rd ranked LB in my league, ahead of guys like EJ Henderson and Lofton on my team. I have a tough time imagining a squad that doesn't have a place for him at this point. He's legit.

putting him on the squad isn't a problem, but starting him over Brooking, Fletcher, Ray and Lofton isn't automatic. I'll probably start him over Brooking when Dallas plays teams that don't run much (NO this week, Arizona in week 16) but the guy's been very consistent lately.

I am going to put a bid on him, basically for next year, rookie doing well, might be worth something going forward.

I have Willis and Timmons for this year, so i dont NEED LB help, unless of course someone gets hurt.

LB's always get hurt unless they're freaking witches like Fletcher or Lewis, so I always carry 8 or 9 on my active roster. He's easily worth that.

Is it actually debatable that Angerer's going to be a really good (probably great) player both in reality and more so in fantasy? Guys, come on. I'm a Colts homer and I won't deny it and I realize that I see things in shades of blue but give me a break. I watch every snap and the kid is going to be the best Colts LB in a long while. I realize there haven't been a lot of "studs" in Indy but there have been quite a few good ones in the last decade of the Polian era and this guy has to be the best already IMO and it seems obvious watching him to me that he's going to continue to grow by leaps and bounds. Not saying he's a weekly fantasy starter right now. Not saying he's a top 10 fantasy LB next year either. Just saying questioning whether he's worth holding onto for the long haul is obvious. If he's on waivers and you aren't in a shallow league you MUST grab him now and he'll pay off for years if you have some patience. It may not even take much patience...but have some and you'll smile and thank me later. Plus, how much cooler does your roster look when it has a guy named Angerer playing LB for you?

whats the update for week 12.. I haven't seen any blips on Brackett or Session
looks like both are questionable and DNP Friday.
Pat tore it up tonight again. He's always around the ball.... Got burnt a few times in coverage, but still showed his quickness.
brackett is supposed to play, what do we do with angerer?
It hasn't looked to me like it makes much statistical difference where Angerer starts. If you were starting him before, you keep playing him.

I got an hour to decide Angerer or Ruud.
I was at the game today. I'm not sure why, but there was a series in the second half when Pat stayed on the sideline. Even on 1st and 10 plays. He wasn't hurt, and was in on the punt defense after it. Other than that, he was in all early down base packages. The thing that bothered me the most was the fact that Hagler got a pretty good amount of nickel snaps. I wasn't counting, but I'd say more than Pat got. Here's what you need to expect out of him down the stretch. His tackle total today was nice becaue Dallas ran the hell out of the ball and that is when he excels. When Session comes back, he's going to be their 2 down SLB. Brackett is never going to leave the field, and Session has a ton of nickel experience and is good at it. I don't see him getting any third down work at this point. But hey, he's a rookie and starts and produces. That being said, who knows how many more games Session misses. If the matchup is good on paper (run heavy team), Pat's still going to hover around 5 solo's a game as a 2 down LB.

:lmao: Thanks for the info!
