Patrick Kerney (1 Viewer)

I'm trying to patient as a Kerney owner, but my DL needs some upgrades and as long as Abraham is out his production will be way down. That plus his triceps injury has me concerned. I don't want to be the guy who puts Kerney on the waiver wire one week before he bounces back and also don't want to carry dead weight when there are some quality wire pickups. My plan is to wait until after Week 3 to make a move. Hopefully by then Abraham's status will be more clear. Anyone else waiting on Abraham's status to move on Kerney?

Kerney owner for multiple seasons here...he's a notorious underperfomer without a strong compliment on the other end of the line...as of now I'm considering him my #4 DL behind Tamba Hali...and I'm considering dropping him for Ogunleye...

I drafted him as my #2 DE after Abraham no less (before Abe was traded to the Falcons), and 1 pass defensed in 2 weeks just don't cut it. Luckily we have huge rosters in that league and I can afford to stash him untill he finally starts producing.

I also have Bert Berry in this league, and what looked as a strength now has me a little worried :bag:

In my 32 team league (see sig) I have Kerney and B. Fisher and thought I had one of the best DE tandems for a 32 teamer. But unfortunately I was mistaken. To top it off I don't have much depth other than LaBoy who hasn't done squat either. :hot:

"THE NEWS

Patrick Kerney returned to practice today, and has been taken off of the injury report. Kerney was listed as probable with a sore triceps, but he will be able to play this Monday night.

Our View

Kerney is a real tuff guy, and he won't miss this game with such a minor injury. It appears the Falcons have put all of the pieces together this season, and Kerney is a large part of that puzzle. IDP owners are wise to have Kerney in their lineups for the game against the Saints."

Found this at AOL, don't really understand this recommendation. What has he done for us lately ?

The only thing Kerney has going for him is that he's an excellent pursuit player who may be able to make an extra play on Reggie Bush on the backside. As others have said, much of his value is lost when opposing offenses don't have to roll protection to the other side. With Josh Mallard and Paul Carrington there, Kerney is a shaky option. He may have a very good game, but there's more than enough history here to know that it's unlikely.
