Patrick Turner (1 Viewer)

Heep

Patrick Turner continues to turn heads right now. All Ive heard out of Dolphins camp since Mini Camp is what a phenomenal job this guy is doing. Yesterday he followed it up with this report....

(KFFL) Armando Salguero, of The Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins WR Patrick Turner has impressed during training camp. He beat CB Will D. Allen twice during one-on-one workouts Tuesday, Aug. 4.

Patrick Turner just caught a 40-yard TD pass over Vontae Davis during tandem drills. OK, I'm starting to buy the hype finally.
I have been keeping a very, very close eye on him since he was drafted. He has a chance to have a Colston-like rookie impact. Hes the only WR on the Fins that is built like a true #1 WR. I know some people will refer to USC WRs with the names Jarrett and Mike Williams when comparing Turner. But I would definitely recommend picking up Turner, especially in dynasties. Maybe he's finally ready to live up to being the #1 WR coming out of high school in 2005.

He may be built like a #1 but I don't see him beating out Camarillo or Ginn and the Dolphins passing enough for a third string WR (at best) getting enough looks to have any real impact. He might have a good game or two but consistent production is pretty far fetched.

If (big IF) he continues to play as well as those reports I can easily see him replacing Camarillo and playing the WR2 role. This would allow Mia to move Camarillo into the slot, his more natural position IMO.

I could be wrong, but I don't consider Camarillo/Ginn as a top flight duo in the NFL. Camarillo is more of a #3 and Ginn is more of a #2/#3. Even if he doesn't beat them out, I also posted this for dynasty owners. A rookie WR starting out as WR3 or WR4 is still a very good accomplishment.

He may be built like a #1 but I don't see him beating out Camarillo 1st rounder Meachem or Ginn 2nd rounder Henderson and the Dolphins Saints passing enough for a third string WR (at best) 7th round pick getting enough looks to have any real impact. He might have a good game or two but consistent production is pretty far fetched.
Fixed  And ya never landed Colston either didja.

Or he could end up like Josh Morgan.

He really flew under the radar at USC. I remember him as a frosh and people were touting him like he might be the next big-time USC receiver. He flashed that ability occasionally, but never really made big on it consistently. It's nice to hear that he's doing so well in camp. I'm interested in learning what Turner, scouts, or coaches have to say about what's changed with his performance in the NFL vs. USC, if there is anything to point out.

At the rate the big USC receivers have performed in the past five to six years in the NFL, maybe it's a good omen for Turner's NFL career that he wasn't so highly regarded.

Turner came to USC as their most highly rated WR prospect ever. He never lived up to the hype. Lazy route running, never got it.

Because of his size and speed, I see him in the NFL as a Vincent Jackson. Jackson is the Charger's premier receiver, and every year he's projected to be a star in this league, but somehow he never is.

He was pretty darn solid last year - right around WR 15 depending on your scoring. high to mid fantasy wr2 is great considering most drafted him as a wr4-5 at best.

 If Patrick Turner turns out as good as Vjax, then he'll be A-OK.

The whole dolphin WR act is a bit confusing, and I can see it being 4 wrs with 60 catches each...

Ginn is #1, Camarillio (assuming he stays healthy) catches everything thrown at him. Bess is slow, but has great hands, and Turner has looked good. Hartline, London, and anthony round out the team.

Turner is a nice guy for dynasty as it seems the dolphins want big WRs out there, but in redraft he will be ww at best (bess is ww fodder as well)

Becuase those USC wr's have been great as of late.

(Rotoworld) According to Dolphins beat writer Omar Kelly, third-round WR Patrick has been "super smooth" early in camp, and he catches "everything."Analysis: Turner is unlikely to unseat Greg Camarillo as a rookie, but he's squarely on the Dynasty league radar. Though he's been compared to other big USC WRs Mike Williams and Dwayne Jarrett, the early reviews have been glowing.
