Patrick Willis (1 Viewer)

Right there with you. My opponent has Vanden Bosch, and Willis has more than matched 3 sacks and tackles.

:fishing:

Move over DeMeco ... there's a new sherriff in town. :)
I would tend to agree, although not by much. He will be #1 in my next set of rankings, sometime in January. He is an absolute beast. The one thing I caution on is that the defense is on the field more than any other team because of the terrible offense and lowest time of possession. So his numbers could drop a bit if the offense gets better.

do i need to draft a lb in 2008?

Demeco Ryans

David Harris

Patrick Willis

Lance Briggs

Jon Beason

Calvin Pace

James Harrison

all under contract thru 2009

Jgb95: How many owners are in your league? You have an amazing linebacking corps. I had Ryans, Willis, Peterson, EJ Henderson, Justin Durant on my team, and I did win out Fantasy football super bowl. Defence wins championships! - 20 team keeper w/ IDP

I thought Harris could have put a good enough stretch of games together to possibly steal DROY. But Willis had to be average. He has been so far from average. Unbelievable.

I believe he was asking how many owners are in that league where you have all those LB's.
I think it was not that hard to get those LBs with adequate foresight. I will not claim I would be one with that kind of a foresigh and do congragulate jgb95 for scooping up these dudes. In all hind sight Patrick Willis went like early in the 2nd, Beason late in 2nd, Harris went late 3rd in fantasy rookie drafts this year - way later in normal formats. And I remember clearly that DeMeco Ryans was far down in the 3rd round last year... he was supposed to be behind what's his face, Sam Cowart? Good Job man. How on earth did you miss out on Lofa Tatupu??

Final numbers in - here's the Top 10 scorers for our league. We used 3 IDPs per team, there were huge yardage bonuses for receivers, no PPR.

Brady - 457 points

Moss - 439

Owens - 366

Wayne - 337

Tomlinson - 314

Chad Johnson - 301

Braylon Edwards - 290

PATRICK WILLIS - 287

Fitzgerald - 278

Westbrook - 274

A top-10 defender, folks!

UPDATE - we gave 2 points per solo tackle... Yahoo stats have him at 136 solos, 30 ahead of the next guy, Beason.

that is amazing

in my league he was #22 overall.

It's really weighted towards the QB

I am soooo glad I drafted him.

In our league he is the top idp and is ranked #35/36 overall with 173 pts. (tied with Frank Gore).

He is #11/12 in the last 6 games 19, 17, 9, 5, 23, 15. 5 QB's and 6 RB's are in front of him and T. Jackson.

I wonder what kind of trade I could get for him? What is the relative longevity of LB's?

Height: 6'-1"

Weight: 240

Birthdate: January 25th,1985

Age: 22

College: Mississippi

Drafted by: San Francisco 49ers

Year: 2007

Round: 1 Pick: 11

All around talents like Willis are derailed only if they're moved to a terrible role within their scheme or injury. There's no reason Willis doesn't put up consistent top five numbers until he grows old (like Ray Lewis or Zach Thomas) but there's always a risk that he flames out early with injury (like Dan Morgan) or scheme issues (like Jonathan Vilma).Today, however, he's as safe as DeMeco Ryans. Willis has the skill set and mentality of an inside linebacker, so even if Mike Nolan gets canned, there's no reason to suspect Willis be "schemed" out of the top ten anytime soon.

Willis won me the title as well, I drafted him at 2.1 in a 12 team dynasty league, I took A.P. 1.1, Beason at 4.1, went from 3-9-1 to 13-2. I was thinking of offering my 1.12 pick, for D. Ryan, unless there is a Willis type LB in this years draft?
