A well deserved bump. Grats.BumpHold that thought...What crown is that? The salty haters are out in full force today Pats fans. It's us against the world. Heavy is the head that wears the crown.![]()
Anyone thinking this wasn't fully intentional by the NFL and larger media networks are blind sheep imo.Only one of the twelve balls were under inflated. The rest were just a tick under 12.5 psi after being in freezing weather for five hours. Chris Mortensen is such a tool.

I think you are completely right but from the Pats perspective it worked out well and if they get a slap on the wrist as well as the trophy who cares you know.matuski, on 02 Feb 2015 - 08:10 AM, said:Anyone thinking this wasn't fully intentional by the NFL and larger media networks are blind sheep imo.dschuler, on 02 Feb 2015 - 07:40 AM, said:Only one of the twelve balls were under inflated. They could fine or take picks etc but does it really matter?Collinsworth in the post game said more than once, "...well I hope the NFL doesn't find anything when it completes their investigation..." Can the NFL do anything at this point, or was Collinsworth just trolling? I lean the latter. And now it doesn't matter.

Karma is a fickle #####. The Pats had a lot of it coming their way after the BS of the last few weeks.I'm gonna come clean...when Kearse made that catch I turned to my buddy and said they definitely cheated because this was the way the Football Gods were getting back at them...making it as painful as possible...Butler's play now makes it very obvious that there was no cheating because the Football Gods would never allow cheaters a moment of pure joy like that...
It will always be an asterick both for the AFC championship game and for their dynasty. If you want to root for cheaters, enjoy yourself. In my experience, cheaters usually cheat much more often than they are caught. NE has been caught twice now. The NFL doesn't want to punish them because then they look bad for permitting the cheating in the first place and all they care about is viewers and money. Most people are lemmings and don't care so the NFL will sweep this under the rug along with the deleted Bellicheat tapes.N.E. was awarded the Lombardi trophy, not a silver-plated asterick. The results are final.
Please be sure to read the latest conspiracy theory regarding that last play of the game. Brady's sister was even more dramatic after the game. The family was very upset, and rightfully so.Brady's dad: "The drip, drip, drip way that things have come out," he said, referring to leaks during the investigation. "It's a conniving way to do business. ... There was no sting? B.S. They've never gauged footballs at halftime. He got screwed the past two weeks."

I do not root for the Patriots. I do not like cheating, not of any stripe, and I do not condone it if it happens. I also, however, have not concluded that there was wrongdoing in the deflate-gate matter. I think much of the impetus for the investigation and surrounding side show was trying to even out past luck, team conduct, and the desire to give some obnoxious fans (not all, just some) a comeuppance. NE was punished 1x for Spygate. When were they caught again for cheating? The NFL cleared them of other cheating allegations like illegal formations vs. Baltimore. Seattle appeared to be the ones worried about a fumble.I missed the game, how many times did the Patriots fumble with regulation balls, 4? 5?
Duh, pretty much why ESPN is still jumping all over it. Nothing to talk about until the draft for football, so gotta keep the ratings going somehow. That is why early on, I didn't care what Bettis and Brunnell said, the more ratings they get, the better their next contract. Absolutely ridiculous the way the NFL has strung this out and left all of the media to speculate ... in the direction that serves there best interest.

If you are a QB, just because they allow 12 game balls, why would you use them all? Wouldn't you pick one you like and go with it? If you aren't playing well maybe try another....but all 12?rappaport said one ball 2 lbs under, 3 or 4 a half pound under, and the rest just a tick under.

True, probably because they are so bad and even trying to get an unfair advantage they still don't compete. How many pages in the Shark Pool do you think this topic would generate?
If true, wouldn't false crowd noise be more of a competitive advantage than a "slightly" deflated football"?

How ironic that the other team accused of piping in crowd noise over the years is the Colts - in the 2006 AFC Championship Game against the Patriots! This whole cheating meme is just dripping with irony.Report: NFL Investigating If ATL Used Fake Crowd Noise

I wonder how long before it will come back around to the Patriots. Pioli is there and he helped instill the Falcons "culture of cheating" he learned while in NE.Bossman said:Report: NFL Investigating If ATL Used Fake Crowd Noise

You realize the ball boys hand the refs the balls to get put in play. The ball in play is rotating all the time. And in the AFC title game, the ball would be changed out even more frequently due to rain.GoBirds said:If you are a QB, just because they allow 12 game balls, why would you use them all? I have no idea. A throw goes out of bounds, ball boy hands a ball to the side judge. Rainy game, they have a toweled off ball ready to go. I do know the QB doesn't get to go choose a ball. Seriously. Has this guy ever seen a football game, much less one in the rain? A better question is... why the hell would sneak into a mens room to only let the air out of one ball? Obviously you don't have an objective opinion on this, I was just asking the question. At this point it doesn't really matter if the Pats were breaking rules again they won the big one so who cares. I've never focused on the ballboy during a game that's why I was asking. My assumption would be a few get used but doubt all 12 are needed. So it doesn't seem like it was a sting operation.Colts GM Ryan Grigson has been revealed as the league's source in the "Deflategate" scandal.
According to NFL executive Troy Vincent, Grigson brought the issue to the league's attention "some time during the second quarter" of the AFC Championship Game. The balls, as you've probably heard by now, were then inspected at halftime. The NFL's investigation into the apparent scandal of the century remains ongoing.
