is anyone watching this game live or just keeping an eye on it thru nfl.com gamecenter?

Earnest Graham, 7 carries for 35 yards so far.....the perennial preseason stud. Very interested to see how Ken Darby performs, as well as Stovall

hopefully we will get some observations from anyone who attended the game or once they replay the game on NFL network.

Would also like to know where Adalius Thomas has been lining up on defense, he's still on the field in the 4th quarter.

im watching it dude. darby looks decent, running hard. not much from stovall.

if anyone cares, Gutierrez, new pats backup, looks sharp. announcer just said he never lost a game as a high school football player. not too shabby...

I think with Vinny coming on board after training camp the Pats will try and get Gutierrez on to their practice squad.

Thanks for telling us about Darby, his numbers looked good by the end of the game.

Didn't see the game, but Darby's stat line looks nice. I wouldn't get carried away about him though. He didn't do squat at Alabama, stunk at the Senior Bowl, and stunk at the combine.

A pretty boring preseason that provided little info. Maroney, Moss, Stallworth, Troy, Watson, Kyle Brady and David Thomas didn't play so taking away anything from the offense was tough. A few things that I noticed about the Pats:

*Adalius is lining up in the middle and it looks like he's going to be a beast. He's very big and can really move. The Pats D is going to be like musical chairs this year with guys moving all over the place pre-snap. So many of their defenders can play multiple positions, they're going to provide QBs with a lot of headaches.

*Randall Gay looked good. He was moving and tackling well and did not look rusty. If he's healthy and back to 04 form that's a real nice addition.

*Sammy Morris started off pretty slowly. He picked things up and had a few decent/hard runs but I don't see him being a guy who can handle the load should Maroney go down. Faulk looked pretty good and he'll be a factor in this offense once again. I wish the Pats had another quality RB on the roster as I think they're a little thin should Maroney go down in a big way.

*Reports from camp on Jabar Gaffney have been excellent and he looked smooth tonight. It just sees like this offense is the right fit for him. He will not only make the team but I expect him to contribute.

*Reports on Merriweather have been good but he didn't look too good tonight. He's very aggressive and seemed to be a little out of sync.

*Neither of the rookie punters helped their cause as far as trying to unseat Josh Miller.

*IMO the biggest thing I saw tonight was Rodney Harrisonn being on the field and looking healthy. He's one of the emotional leaders of this team and the D plays with more of an edge when he's back there.

How did David Boston look out there?
He had one catch for five yards...he wasn't noticeable but that was pretty much the case for everyone on offense for both teams except for the backup Tampa RBs (Graham and Darby) and a lot of their production came against the backups.

How did Carnell Williams do - I see 1 run for 4 yards and 1 catch for 4

As for Darby, I have heard nothing but good things about him from Buc's camp thus far. Was he really that bad in college?/combine/senior bowl.

This "game" was boring.I can't watch pre-season football.

Nothing to see from the Pat's offensive side, 1/2 the players weren't playing.

Tampa's offensive line looked pretty decent. Without Petitgout, even. Take it for what it's worth, but a commentator said that Joseph has been great in camp.

Caddy only got the two touches. He made a decent juke on his reception to avoid a tackler and gain some yards.

Pittman looks like he always does: good straight line speed, no moves, tippy toe tripper. :yucky:

Boston didn't see much come his way. The one catch I saw was a three step, turn around route.

Graham, numbers notwithstanding, looks rather ordinary. Okay speed, but no burst or power.

I didn't watch most of the second half.

Neither did some of the QBs before him or after him at De La Salle...151 straight wins, all-time high-school record.

Darby did have more suddenness, more juice in his cuts, than what I saw from him at Bama last year and at the Senior Bowl practices. He definitely looked more like 05 Darby.

Probably the first and last preseason game I'll be watching. Fn brutal, don't know how you people can sit through these things when they don't involve your team.

I'm all over any game I can see. I want any little edge I can get, especially since I play in so many deep IDP dynasty leagues. I find these games very interesting with so many different things to try and catch. Plus, I just LOVE to watch all the football I can, even preseason games.

:potkettle: His senior year was expected to be good, but was disappointing. Those expectations however were based on his junior year when he ran for 1250 yards, after a little over 1000 as a sophomore. He did enough to become Alabama 2nd all-time rusher behind SA.

Guess I'm just not into that much. Games are absolutely unwatchable. I'll wait another 4 weeks for the real thing.

 It's especially tough when you're in another town. Still, cheap tix, decent weather, hot wimmins, cold beer . . . it aint THAT bad.

I don't think he'd clear waivers. While I don't know if he's truly any good and it might not be 100% about talent, but he's received such strong reviews since he got to NE someone will pick him up. Vinny has been around "for free" and he'll always be a phone call away and probably keep stopping by and spending time at practice. The Pats seem to feel strongly that Cassell could finish any game well. I don't think there's any rush to sign Vinny. Vinny's not looking at other teams either and that's another key point too IMO.

not sure he ever won a game in college though. was buried and then injured at Michigan.
I believe he was in place to start 4 years ago, but suffered an injury. Henne was a true frosh and was going to fill-in until Gutierrez healed up...Matt healed up, but Henne was too good to be taken out of the starting lineup.
