Let's play "Identify the Haters!"
Doesn't the missery the patriots have brought to the Jets for the last few years bring a smile to your faceWell, Im a Giants fan and I hate the Patriots. I actually hate them more for the media coverage they've gotten and the tuck rule.
How in the world would this poll identify the haters?
This is the new world. As long as everyone is doing it then it's ok no matter how unethical it happens to be.I am not debating your statements, but I'd like to point out the fact that just because they got caught doesn't mean they are the only ones doing it..
Baseball teams steal sign sall the time, I am not the least bit surprised that football teams do it too..

I have personal opinions, but you have to use the same reasoning about Barry Bonds cheating, he isn't the only one doing it..
I heart the Patriots
I suspect that this topic has been far more distracting to many of us than it has to the Patriots. They haven't really answered many questions and a few guys have been asked in the locker room. I suspect this will motivate them to prove that they can win without being thought as cheaters. But clearly there is no way to monitor the impact of all this.Way to many distractions heading into a game like this.
I don't think there's really a way to tell unless you saw something like New England getting beat down and out of sync. I certainly don't expect that but if it did......I don't know, I see your point and it's certainly an angle. I just think the coaching staff, more than the players will be affected by this. It's not even over yet..really just starting. This is going to be a big story all week. Shoot, on ESPN when they come on at 11 AM and CBS etc... this will be one of the lead stories. To me, regardless of what side of the fence you sit on this, it's a distraction. Not the kind of thing you need heading into a very big regular season game like this.I suspect that this topic has been far more distracting to many of us than it has to the Patriots. What I want to know is what in the hell does this thread have to do with FF?How in the world would this poll identify the haters?
I inspired a pool; WOOHOO!![]()
But the "Other" vote probably includes Patriot fans who cheat.
Same here. How in the world would this poll identify the haters?I was thinking the exact same thing.
I've posted this elsewhere in defense of the Pats, so I'll do it here too...Bill Walsh was the dirtiest coach to ever walk the NFL sidelines..cut blocks and illegal picks were his M.O....is a potentially career ending cutblock worse than a guy holding a camera allegedly stealing signs? YES it most definitely is..keep things in perspective, man..a camera didn't physically hurt anyone, while Walsh's tactics cost people their careers..just food for thought...This is a dumb thread. I am not a fan of any of the listed teams (giant's fan) nor do I hate the patriots. If the allegations are true But what they did was cheating and total BS. No other way to look at it.
Really? So Billy normally heads down to the NFL's offices in NYC on a Monday or Tuesday to have a face to face chat with the commissioner? Something tells me that Billy has certainly lost out on some prep time for the next game. Probably not a whole lot in the grand scheme of things, but distracting none the less.I suspect that this topic has been far more distracting to many of us than it has to the Patriots. Breeeath in.... and breeeath out...First off, I'm a Broncos fan. Obviously I'm not a sore loser, because Denver has owned New England- 5-1 against them since the "dynasty" started, with the one loss being by 4 points when they were forced to start their 3rd-string QB. Just giving a little bit of background for the following remarks.I do not hate the Patriots franchise. I think it is a quality franchise that is very well run. I do not hate the Patriots players, who I think are good guys, although I think people overrate their character- I don't think they're any more or less selfless than any other team. I *DO* hate Bill Belichick, because I think he's a jerk. He refuses to let his assistants talk to the media in an effort to keep them low-profile and hinder their chances for advancement. He treats every injury like it's a state secret and puts the secrecy of his injury report even above the safety of his players. He also breaks up marraiges and engages in many other non-classy behaviors. I think he's a real student of the game, and I'd LOVE to sit down and just pick his brain for a day, but as a person, I just don't like him, and I think he deserves to squirm a little bit.I also hate a very large portion of the Patriots fanbase. They have probably the biggest amount of bandwagon fans in the nation, and it pisses me off. I would say that their fans are, on average, less educated and more obnoxious than the average fans, simply because they feel a sense of entitlement to success when they couldn't care less about the team while they were laying this foundation for success. Obviously I don't hate all Patriots fans- I have several good friends who were fans through the dark years, who are very knowledgeable and appreciate their good fortune- but the bad fans are far and away the most visible section. Also, I think chanting "Yankees Suck" after New England won its first superbowl was the most boorish, most classless, mt unappreciative behavior any fan base has ever exhibited in the history of professional football. It really makes my blood boil that a team could work so hard to deliver a championship to their loyal fanbase, and that fanbase would respond by immediately badmouthing a rival IN ANOTHER FREAKING SPORT. Miami fans once failed to sell out a home playoff game, which is bad, but at least the fans who went to the game were there for FOOTBALL. Just talking about the incident pisses me off all over again. So, to sum up... I don't hate the franchise, I don't hate the ownership, I don't hate the players, and I don't hate the loyal fans, but I absolutely loathe Belichick and the bandwagon fans, and wish there was some way to punish them with a lifetime of 0-16 seasons without likewise punishing the good fans or the rest of the franchise.
You got me!Let's play "Identify the Haters!"
I'm a Bills fan. Of course I "hate" the Patriots, just like I hated the Cowboys in the 1990s and hated the Dolphins back when they were good. That's just part of being a fan of your team and naturally feeling a sense of rivalry with teams that you consistently bump up against. That has nothing to do with my feelings about the Patriots videotaping defensive signals. I'm not honestly sure what sort of penalty would be most appropriate in this case, but I would feel it merits punishment even if it were, say, the Cardinals who were caught doing this.Edit: Having read most of the other threads on this, there are some Pat fans who really need to learn what an ad hominem argument and why it's not legitimate.
Are the Boston Witch trials back in season????By the way, I think I hate False starts and delay of game penalties more than I hate the Pats......they are good....so I hate emPatriot & Red Sox Fans are some of the most obnoxious fans in sports. A lot of their fans refer to the players by their first names...like they know them. BURN PATRIOTS, BURN!
On the poll? This poll is flawed. And so is this thread!I'm a Colts fan who doesn't happen to hate the Pats.Where is that listed?
Then there's my brother-in-law who knew NOTHING about the NFL until he moved here from Holland and married my sister. Their first place together was in Maine and so he became a Pats fan. To top it off, he's a know-it-all.
