Pats lose two key DBs for Week 11

Asante Samuel - DB - NE - Nov. 18 - 8:00 p.m. ET

Patriots cornerback Asante Samuel (knee) and free safety Eugene Wilson (hamstring) have been downgraded to out for Week 11.

Despite his sore groin, Brett Favre is a near must-start vs. New England with Samuel, possibly the team's best corner, on the sidelines. Chad Scott and Ellis Hobbs will match up with Greg Jennings and Donald Driver Sunday. James Sanders is expected to start at strong safety.Nov. 18 - 8:00 p.m. ET

Who`s gonna cover D.Driver and G.Jennings  .......looks like a nice day for Farve and company

Green Bay should attack James Sanders all day long. He's not a good NFL safety.

No matter how many DBacks the Pats have they can't seem to keep any healthy. This is the third year in a row where they've taken a beaten to the whole unit.

Analysis from the Patriots downgrading CB Asante Samuel and S Eugene Wilson to out for Sunday's game:

With Samuel out, the Patriots lose one of their starting corners. That likely means the Patriots will move Chad Scott to cornerback opposite of Ellis Hobbs. At safety, with Wilson out, it's likely that James Sanders will start alongside Artrell Hawkins.

The Patriots also have rookie Willie Andrews, free-agent signee Rashad Baker, receiver Troy Brown and linebacker Don Davis as possible options in the secondary.

WR Donald Driver leads the NFL with 56 receptions.

Clearly, this is the story of the game for the Patriots, as they enter with a depleted defensive backfield.

What about the health of the Pats Defensive linemen? How much pass rush will they be able to generate?

The Packs Oline is starting several rookies. They have played amazingly well for how inexperienced they are. I think young linemen are better at run blocking than pass blocking however as they can be confused by stunts and zone blitzing more often than a veteran will be.

http://www.nfl.com/injuriesSo more specificly my question is will Seymour and Warren play? And if so how effective will they be playing through these injuries?

If Favre is not under a lot of pressure he could have a very good day against this depleted secondary.

If there was ever a time to start your Pats WRs, this is it. This has the look of a shootout.

This weak secondary is what will ultimately sink the Pats this season, I think. A couple key injuries and the wheels are falling off the bus. If they can't hold against the Packers, it will say a lot.

ESPN is reporting that 3 of 4 starters in the NE secondary are out now. Driver is a start any week. Does this change things for Farve? I'm thinking he'd be a good sleeper over a regular starter even.
