Skin and oral cancer. Always liked this guy. Suprised to hear he was winningest pitcher in KC history.

Posnanski blogged a nice piece about Splitt today.

He only averaged 3.7 K/9 over his career. Since WWII, only Lew Burdette and Bob Forsch won more games with that low of a strikeout rate.
