Pedro from the standpoint of a player has only really played one full season with the Mets. He was injured for half of last season and will be for most most of this season. On the field he hasn't lived up to the potential of his contract. Off the field and indirectly he has been huge for the Mets organization. He singlehandly revitalized the team his first year here. Fans starting coming back in record numbers (esp for his games) and the free agents started flowing in. Some could say they were gonna come anyway with the money being thrown there way, but players like to play for winners and they saw Pedro has the start of that.

I would have to say that up to this point, he has eanred his contract just by what has happened to the Mets since his arrival. I think if he had signed with the Red Sox it would have been a disaster though.

Disagree with you.

The Mets are a good team because they have good young players. Wright and Reyes are nice pieces to have in the lineup and they were coming along with Pedro or no Pedro.

If the Mets win the World Series with Pedro this year, I will change my mind.

There is no guarantee you are going to get much more out of him either.
