People are waiting in line outside the Circuit City here (1 Viewer)

I still miss Circuit City
Me too.   It was the last store that I purchased CDs from routinely.   There was a CC on my way home from work and I would stop a couple of times each month.   Buying music on albums, cassettes, and CDs was awesome.   I still have a hard time buying music digitally.

Who buys music digitally?  If not getting vinyl just do Spotify or whatever.

It's a 46" 1080p LCD for $1299
The holiday season can now commence with the annual bumping of this thread.

This was the first time clicking on the thread since the new board so I was taken to the very first page. I read through several pages and came across bentley's post.

I tried to find the price of that model today but was unable to locate the exact match because they probably have not manufactured it in ten years.

The mirrors...the mirrors.

15 years later I still have the tv that I bought the next day instead of standing in line. Watched the Cowboys beat the Vikings Sunday on it.

Just ran out to CVS to get my Black Friday Grinch ornaments and Woodstock peek-a-boo to music in a hat.

Circuit City and Black Friday forever! (Even though it's dying an asphyxiated death.)

Good to see you @bentley ! Long time no see.

It was a nightmare going out today. I planned to just sit around and relax and eat leftovers, but NOOOOO, the wife buys several items from Target for car side pickup. She convinces me to go out because we had a ton of packages being delivered today--including an air fryer and about a $1,000 worth of Lego.

As I am driving to Target, we get the email that one of our items is not available, but can be picked up at another Target. So my afternoon of just a quick run to Target, turns into a 90 minute ordeal of having to go to two Targets. The parking lots were packed. Drivers just doing whatever. People everywhere. To Target's credit, their car-side is absolutely amazing and quick, but this adventure was terrible and I need about ten beers.

I'm actually pretty stunned CJ. Everything on the news here has been claiming the days of crowds and lines are long gone as more and more stores have been doing BF deals for a month already. They make it sound like everyone simply shops online. As someone who indeed does just that, I had no reason to doubt them.

Just got back from one of my local targets and I was absolutely shocked to go in at about 6pm and there was only one "classic" register open. And then 5 or 6 self-checkouts. Wtf.

I just drove my wife and daughter over to the mall to hit Old Navy and Target for some $5 plaid PJ bottoms. I was shocked at how much traffic there was out there at 1pm. It was like 1996 all over again. Old Navy ended their sales at 1pm and my wife checked out at like 1:15. She was so mad, lol.

I have noticed the stores and restaurants around here have been pretty busy on most week nights since Halloween. I thought it seemed kinda weird, because nobody seems to have any money when it comes up in conversations. I'm guessing credit cards are getting smashed today. People were driving SO bad also. I am curious why this year seems to finally have everyone all hyped up. The last few years have been duds in local in person retail.

I still miss Circuit City fwiw.
