Closing the loopholes down?
Unless you're enforcing restrictions with the force of guns, people that own capital eventually move to friendlier climes. Heck, even ole genial uncle Warren -- he of the "pay your taxes" movement -- just did, didn't he? The whole BK and Tim Horton's thing?

 
3000 people out of 313.9 million. That is about 1/1000th of one percent. And the situation is more complicated than just avoiding taxes. That is probably not the leading reason but it is the one certain groups like to talk about.

That's what I mean, and I don't find fault in that until a specific law is broken.

Oh, and as for the OP now with link as it relates to individuals, that fee is peanuts if a person is renouncing their citizenship to avoid taxes.

And if he would look at the numbers he would find that companies that invert don't really end up winning. Short term gain, long term not so much.

 
Anybody know how the U.S. rate of renounced citizenship compares to other countries? This isn't a sneaky rhetorical question, I don't know the answer.

 
The "Fair Tax" would be the smart move....therefore, not one a politician would endorse.

How in the world would they pay back their endorsers without a 71,954 page tax code?

It started out with 400 pages in 1913
