519 yards & 8 offensive TD's allowed in the infamous 1940 NFL Championship drubbing.

TONIGHT: they gave up 592, 7 offensive TD's.

The Eagles could have put up 73 tonight. They could have put up 80.

That 1940 NFL Championship happened because the coach at the time - one George Hallas - had develoepd a new style of offensive footbal built around an exceptional quarterback, Sid Luckman.

The quarterback position is an extremely versatile position (as is the very NFL offensive formation) and it takes a special player to change the way the game is played.

The combination of Andy Reid, an offensive innovator, and the remarkable skills of Mike Vick may be a formative moment in the NFL.

The Bears went to the next three NFL title games.

NFL defensive coordinators had better figure something out - quick.

This is not the Atlanta Michael Vick; this is something else entirely.
