Pete Davidson - What the heck? (1 Viewer)

My wife alerted me to this the other day.  Beckinsale is one of my current celebs that are on "the list" for me, so I guffawed.

I was trying to equate it to women, but I'll try again:

If you have Pete Davis who is hung like a bull moose and Ryan Gosling who is hung like a bull moose, why would they pick Pete Davis?  These women are smoking hot.  I'm sure they can find hot hung like bull moose men all over the place.

 
Hey, I don't get it either. I don't think Pete Davidson is particularly handsome, funny, talented, or anything else, really. 

From what I've seen on SNL, he has a good sense of delivery in Weekend Update bits, but they are generally self-focused and a guy droning on about himself is tiring to me in any context. In skits and other bits, he is mostly unnoticeable to me, with the sole exception being where he can't keep a straight face and cracks up -- which to me is an anathema for someone working on SNL and this type of sketch comedy. It's unprofessional, it's distracting, and takes away way more than it adds. I get it when it can't be helped -- people cracking up over Will Farrell's unexpected hilarity or Rachel Dratch not being able to keep a straight face during the Debbie Downer skits. It happens, I get it.

But I hate it when it happens constantly and it becomes the main thing, as it seems to be for Davidson. Hey, I think Jimmy Fallon and Horatio Sanchez are pretty damned talented too but I hated them on SNL for this exact reason. It seemed like a constant barrage of breaking up during skits.

So Davidson falls into this camp, and above that, I don't think he even has teh talent a guy like Fallon has.

That said, if he's landing some of the most desirable women in show business, great for him.

My issue in't this.

My issue is that I have to hear about it. So damned tired of the celebrity-driven focus of the media in this country. We keep underscoring again and again and again that the things we should pay attention to are completely useless and unredeemable people like the Kardashians and the Housewives, or the latest celebrity gossip, when so many things (take your pick -- poverty, corruption, racism, etc.) are so much more important and receive little to no attention because they don't "sell."

It's a self-propagating issue that has landed us squarely in today's cultural morass, and I unfortunately see no end in sight.

But Pete is also funny and has issues which some girls are into fixing.

Yup. This is what I was thinking. He is the wounded animal. Plus, it's the whole Leo DiCaprio thing. Once you date one, you've got an entree into others. Women see stuff like that and think, "Why not me?"

If this is a baseball analogy, ok. But, if this means he should be getting tied up naked and back-to-back with other dudes and playing slippery tummy with Michael, well, then women like Beckinsale are just gonna stay out of my league, forever. NTTAWWT.

Because a hot woman who’s amazing in bed will know that she can do better than you, so she’ll treat you like crap. And when better comes along, she’ll ditch you and then you won’t have any woman who’s amazing in bed.

For Beckinsale, it’s because a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. She’s got Pete and his big **** there and they’re ready to do whatever she wants. Why give that up to maybe find a hot guy, with a comparable ****, who doesn’t already have a girlfriend, and isn’t going to be a #### because he’s hot and has a big ****, sometime in the future?

If she does find the hot guy with a big **** but isn’t one, she can always trade Pete in for him.

To be fair, Pete said he believes that he is average sized, just that Ariana is really small.

 
if i'm reading this right, he's got some severe manic issues. which means he can swing from way out of control, danger to himself to the sweetest, best, nicest, kindest, most attentive, caring, loving person anyone has ever met in their entire life and then some.

dude might lose control and look like a wreck but he has the flipside that's like a burlap sack full of puppies that lick faces and flounce around banging in to things in the cutest way possible.

when he's on.. he's probably dialed 1000000000000000000% in. 

like Ron said, swing the bat and you're going to get base knocks. just because Grande and Beckinsale are hot & famous doesn't mean they aren't as damaged as anyone else :shrug:  they might be looking for exactly what loving Pete provides... and deal with what manic Pete take away because they're used to it from their past.

 
That crazy/hot quadrant video is the most cringe-worthy thing I've seen in a long, long time. It's very, very sad. Any man that wants to give you advice about women and the first thing he does is turn around to draw you a graph on a dry erase board? That is a dude who does not know what he's talking about and does not care about your well-being. That's one of the most disgusting things I've seen in a long time.
