Peyton Hillis (1 Viewer)

BTW, as a Cutler owner, I HATE this kid...... :hot:

He keeps plunging in short TDs from inside the 10. Cutler used to pass for those scores before he came along.
Really? Because I thought Michael Pittman was running for those scores earlier in the year. Perhaps last season this was true but Shanny likes having a guy to finish off long drives on the ground and this year he apparently has a guy that can get the job done.Get used to it.
If you read Raider Nation's post's in general I would say they are full of BS but, that would be an insult to BS.

I was hoping for a one game stop gap...and surprise...found a legitimate every game starter.

Now I'm wondering if I've found a keeper for 2009?

I think Hillis fans will love this ..

He started as a last-ditch solution, but after three weeks as the Broncos' primary tailback, Peyton Hillis might see his role growing even more.

Coach Mike Shanahan on Monday said he envisions Hillis getting more carries out of the backfield, lining up at fullback or on the line of scrimmage as a hybrid tight end.
"He is better with the ball in his hands at the tailback position running the football or catching a pass out of the backfield," Shana- han said. "He also can play the fullback position, which gives us a lot of flexibility."
though all that pounding takes a toll
"I think he was hurt all over — hips, shoulders," Shanahan said. "I think he's just sore. I don't think it is anything serious."

I traded him for a 2009 3rd round pick in my keeper. I'm going to keep Mendenhall & F. Jones over him (Can only keep 2 rookies)

It's either Addai, Hillis or Cotchery in a PPR league for me this week. Wonder who I should choose. I kept in LT and Lynch and this is for my flex spot.

I saw this on Yahoo!

Tue, Dec 2 Hillis may get additional looks as a hybrid tight end, in addition to his role as running back, the Denver Post reports.Recommendation: Mike Shanahan has been so impressed with Hillis that he is looking for more and more ways to get him touches throughout the game. He even likened him to Colts tight end Dallas Clark, who has been a solid fantasy contributor for the past couple of seasons.(Rotowire.com)
So does this mean he might become a RB/TE in these last few weeks on Yahoo!, like Colston was a WR/TE a few years ago? Here's hoping!

Is it crazy to put Hillis in over CJ3 this week?
I'm thinking about it too. They both have good matchups but Hillis should be getting all the goal line carries, so that has me favoring him.

We need to get on this ASAP and appeal to Yahoo!

Considering starting him over SJax or LJ. I am not sure w/ Shanigans there.

It looksi like Selvin Young is practicing again, and will play this weekend. Is this cause for concern?

I hope this versatility doesn't mean a lesser number of carries.

Just so you are all prepared, there WILL be a week coming up here where Hillis gets 4 carries for 9 yards and no TDs.

Shanahan lives to drive us nuts. It's what he does.

Selvin Young has been practicing fully this week.
Selvin Young (groin) was limited in Broncos practice Thursday. This now casts doubt on Young's status for Week 14. After he practiced fully on Wednesday, Young looked ready to play as a change of pace behind Peyton Hillis against the Chiefs. Selvin may now be a game-time decision. | 12/4/2008 6:00:00 PM

If it was Selvin or Tatum in Hillis' position I'd believe it, but I think when Shanahan doesn't have a stud, he prefers bigger backs and it's the smaller ones he shows less patience for.

Starting Hillis as a RB/WR flex play in a 1st round playoff matchup this week over Brian Westbrook, Reggie Bush and Megatron. The matchup just looks that juicy. May the fantasy gods have mercy on my soul!

Any news on Selvin? Heard he practiced on Wed, but then had a setback on Thursday. Haven't seen any more on this.

ETA: Nevermind. Found this on Rotoworld

Selvin Young (groin, probable) returned to a full practice Friday.

It now looks like Young is going to play against Kansas City, but don't expect him to get more than a handful of touches. Peyton Hillis has been named the Broncos' starter and his versatility makes him hard to keep off the field.

Scares me with Young finally healthy. I could see it now, Hillis has 3 carries for like 30 yards then fumbles on his fourth carry and Selvin Young comes in and has 100+ out of nowhere.

Not sure Selvin is big concern yet. No idea if he is truly healthy, the last time he was on the field he lasted one play. I don't believe the Bronco's are sure either, I would have expected at least one RB cut if they were. Unless I missed some news they still have, Hillis, Young, Pope, Bell, Larsen(FB), and Pinnock(FB) on the active roster. If Selvin makes it thru the game healthy i would expect them to drop at least one. The fact that they are still keeping 2 FB on the roster seems to imply they will be going with Hillis at RB fulltime at least this week. If he is dominate again and they keep winning, it seems unlikely they would change.

I know that trying to figure out what Shanahan will do is futile, but does he really have any choices other than Hillis ?
