Anybody know if laser range finders are prohibited in PGA play? I have to guess they are because I never see them.

Yes...they're illegal in lesser tourneys too. College, high school, junior events also.

Wth is the PGA Champ in July next year?
Little thing called The Olympics.
That's right...sweet...the U.S. will be stacked with Spieth, Fowler, Watson, and Furyk...maybe DJ
Capped to four. Any other countries going to have more than two?
England and the Aussies will be good.
Aussies might qualify three, England will probably only have two, figure most of the remaining 51 will be sole representatives. We'll have guys with rankings around 300-400 in while about a third of the top 15 won't make it.

Some tournaments allow them as long as they are distance only
Yep, the USGA allows local rule exceptions. Rule 14-3b of the United States Golf Association’s Rules of Golf bans “artificial” devices used for “gauging or measuring distance” or other conditions of play, such as the course’s slope or the day’s weather. The penalty for violation of Rule 14-3b is disqualification. Yardage books are not considered artificial and are therefore permitted during play.

Jerry Rice got DQed from a web.com event because his caddie used one.

Wednesdays you see a some caddies walking the course with range finders marking their books.

The R&A now allow them in amateur tournaments

Jason Day is going to cruise to victory.

But DJ making that 8 on #1 is brutal. Had he made a 3 or even a 4, he would be T2.

Forgive my ignorance, but why wouldn't range finders be allowed? In a practical sense, I mean (I understand what the rule book says).

If Day beats Speith by 4 or more, I win $3600. 3, $2500. 2 or less, 1200.

GO JASON!
Just Spieth, or whoever comes in 2nd?
It's a weird pool. Basically, there are 12 "GMs" and the top 12 golfers after round two are assigned randomly. I had golfer #2 which was Day. The winner is the person whose golfer has the best score in rounds 3 & 4. This is a triple rollover and the last tournament of the season so the winner gets $3600 and second gets $1200.

As far as I can tell, the only golfers in the mix right now are Day, Speith and Rose.

And Spieth's birdie puts him in a tie with Day.
