PGA Tour Thread: 2019 Season Ends (3 Viewers)

What is the benefit to Hovland of remaining amateur into this tournament rather than being pro coming in and making some $?  Did he get in because of his amateur status?  Does being low amateur in the Open get him something going forward?
Yes. He got in because he won the US Amateur last year.

What's crazy is if Brooks doesn't hit it in the water at 12 at Augusta we'd be talking legit shot at the Grand Slam right now.

Woodland getting respect in live betting odds, even with Koepka right now at +125 on Bovada. I'd think Koepka to be a noticeable favorite at this point.

Buck mentioned that, which spurred my questions.  God forbid they address why he's waiting.  Or maybe they have several times and I just missed it.
Some better context would be that this was the course that Hovland won the NCAA championship at last season and he has his college coach on the bag.

Was shooting practice rounds with Fowler earlier in the week.  He was playing for the win this weekend and leads the field in shots gained t2g this week by a pretty wide margin.

Impressive stuff.

Does Fox just go into the gallery and ask if anyone has something stupid to say and then band them a mike for the tee shot.

When an amateur finishes in the money does the caddy just do it for free?
Usually it's a friend, teammate, coach, relative or maybe a local jock. With Hovland maybe he already hired a guy because he's a pro next week and he's going to be a star.

As long as they don't ba ba booey I'm fine. Anyone who yells ba ba booey needs to be ejected and arrested.
I guess go ahead and yell what you like. But it sounds like the person is directly mic'd up. They could turn it down in the mix at least
