***Philadelphia Eagles at Baltimore Ravens (1 Viewer)

McNair and co. looked great in the 1 series against the Giants (missing several key players). I'm interested to see if they look as sharp tonight.

Good stuff. Also, saw that the Giants-Chiefs game is being replayed at 11:30pm on the same Fox station. Good night of football ahead :banned:

And, I just realized the Bears-Chargers game is on CBS tomorrow too. Double :banned:

Who are those fools bagging preseason again?

Is this game being nationally televised? Im in the Philly market; cant tell.
I don't know about nationally, but if you are in the Philly area, you should be able to get it on ABC.
I thought WPHL 17 had the games in preseason?
Nah it's on Channel 6. a.k.a. ETN... which means Jaws will be telling us that every player is great and how much we need Todd Pinkston back in the lineup. I'm ready for the real games to start........ here's to nobody getting hurt. :banned:

Eagles Notes

Eagles Notes

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Eagles cornerback Roderick Hood made the trip to Baltimore yesterday for tonight's game against the Ravens, but it would be a surprise if he played.

Hood left Tuesday's practice with an injured left foot.

"He'll go on the trip, and then we'll just see how he feels," coach Andy Reid said.

Hood, considered among the top No. 3 cornerbacks in the league, did not appear optimistic as the Eagles broke training camp yesterday at Lehigh University.

"Right now I don't feel too good," Hood said.

Buckhalter's return

One of the most excited players tonight will be running back Correll Buckhalter, who missed the last two seasons with a torn patellar tendon in his right knee. Buckhalter will see his first action of the preseason against Baltimore.

"I've worked hard to get to this point, and I'm really looking forward to getting into a game," Buckhalter said.

Reid indicated that Buckhalter's playing time would be closely monitored.

"We'll limit his reps, but we still want to get a good look at him," Reid said.

Westbrook update

Reid continues to say that running back Brian Westbrook is making progress from a sprained left foot. He suffered the injury in the Aug. 6 preseason opener against the Oakland Raiders.

"He's doing a little bit more each day, and he's feeling pretty good," Reid said.

Reid has said Westbrook would not play tonight, and he also likely will miss the Aug. 25 exhibition game against the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers.

Other injuries

These players also will be sidelined tonight: offensive tackle Calvin Armstrong (sprained knee); linebacker Chris Gocong (stinger); guards Scott Young (hamstring) and Adrien Clarke (back); linebacker Greg Richmond (back); defensive end Jerome McDougle (broken ribs); and defensive tackle Darwin Walker (broken rib).

Playing time

Quarterback Donovan McNabb and the starters are scheduled to play the first half against Baltimore, leaving the second half to the reserves, Reid said.

Backup quarterback Jeff Garcia will not play, according to Reid. Koy Detmer, who did not play quarterback in last week's 20-7 win over the Cleveland Browns, will relieve McNabb tonight. Timmy Chang could play in the fourth quarter.

Bloom's debut

Rookie wide receiver and return man Jeremy Bloom, slowed in camp by a hamstring injury, is expected to see his first preseason action tonight. Reid said he would be used as a returner.

Leaving Lehigh

Never did the Eagles move so quickly after a workout. The team had a 28-minute walk-through yesterday morning and then broke camp. Many of the players ran to get changed and then hopped into their cars for the ride back to the Philadelphia area.

"It will be like the Lehigh 500 on the roads," joked guard Shawn Andrews, who was driving a white BMW convertible. "I think everybody is ready to go because this was a longer camp, but we got a lot of good work done here."

On the Ravens

While the Eagles are 1-1 this preseason, Baltimore is 0-1. The Ravens lost, 17-16, on Friday to the visiting New York Giants. New starting quarterback Steve McNair completed 4 of 5 passes for 45 yards against the Giants.

I'm sure or at least hoping that that is a misprint...lol

I could see that - Top 3 Nickel package corner? That's not a big stretch. It doesn't mean he is Top 3 CB in the league.

*Missed the Eagles first series.

*McNair seems to be looking a lot to Mason. Two catches already.

*Jamal is getting good burst. Had one 11 yard run. 4 carries thus far I think. Was stuffed on his last carry.

*No Mike Anderson yet.

Ravens D looks good. Stupid penalities though.

McNabb looking good in the pocket.

Great shovel to Buck, almost a TD.

Eagles patented bend but don't break D in full effect. Held Balt to aFG after a nice drive.

No Broderick Bunkley yet.

Dawkins looks great.

Lewis looks much better than Anderson. No burst from Mike.

McNabb looking great. The Balt D had him dead behind the LOS and he evaded three defenders and was able to throw the ball away.

Is/was Todd Heap in the game, and if so what's up with him?
Haven't heard his name once yet. McNair threw on incomplete to a TE, but not Heap.
I thought the play that Dawkins broke up was against Heap?

I didn't think so, but I was talking on the phone so I could be wrong.

What the hell happened at the end of that last series? I can't get the game on my lovely cable system... Was it coverage/pressure from philly, or did the Ravens line finally wake up and remember it sucks?

1-10-PHI 19 (2:51) S.McNair sacked at PHI 22 for -3 yards (S.Rayburn).2-13-PHI 22 (2:18) (Shotgun) S.McNair pass short right to D.Wilcox to PHI 23 for -1 yards (S.Considine, D.Jones).3-14-PHI 23 (2:05) (Shotgun) S.McNair sacked at PHI 30 for -7 yards (J.Kearse). FUMBLES (J.Kearse), RECOVERED by PHI-B.Dawkins at PHI 30. B.Dawkins to PHI 30 for no gain (E.Mulitalo).

any of you slackers actually watching this game -

You may find this hard to believe, but they came out on the first series in a no huddle/hurry up offense- drove the ball to the 30 (with a little help from a PI penalty on Rolle) then stalled and settled for the field goal.

They're the chumps who still actually follow that silly game with a tiny white ball and no contact. Can't recall the name, but it ranks right around golf - you know, slightly more interesting than watching grass grow.
