Phillies re-sign RP Romero. (1 Viewer)

I look at the Phils pitching and right now it's hard to find a team that is better stacked in the NL than them...

SP Hamels

SP Meyers

SP Kendrick

SP Moyer

SP Eaton ???

BULLPEN

Madsen

Romero

Gordon

Lidge

Of course, some of this comes with question marks and further expectations.... (Can Lidge comeback?, Is Romero the real deal?, Will Hamels and Meyers take a next step...Hamels to legit Cy Young contender, Meyers to Hamels level this past year? Can Kendrick perform as he did in his rookie year?) but I don't think there is a team in the NL who doesn't have question marks.

If I were the Phils front office... I would open the bank for Rowand ( something I don't think they will do as I think that they see Werth as taking another step) and keep that offense intact. If they don't keep Rowand...I would open the bank for some more bullpen help (in the form of Linebreck or even maybe take a chance on a Kerry Wood).

Like you say, there are a lot of "what if"s there. What if Hamels or Myers are injured again? What if Gordon is washed up? What if Lidge develops a fear of delivering gopherballs in CBP? Which Romero and which Madson show up? They still need another arm but they're hard to come by.As far as position players, my wish is that the Dodgers sign A-Rod and the Phils manage to swing a deal for a then expendable Andy LaRoche.
