Phrases/terms that need to be retired immediately (4 Viewers)

Double Down - For the past month, nary a talking head on the teevee news can go three sentences without uttering this phrase.
"All in" is being used with similar frequency. Looks like poker's popularity has waned, the the terminology is here to stay.

"criminally under-rated" A lot of the usage is on this board regarding movies. Nobody is going to jail for not liking a movie to suit you.

delta - if it is not used in geographical context, please stop.
What if it's used in a mathematical sense? Or airline sense? Or Greek sense?
Faucet sense?
Point taken but when some mid-level manager says:
"Well, you quoted them the wrong amount for... They pay $$$$. Perhaps the delta will make up for some of it."
I want to hang myself.
I think when said manager says that, he means the Mekong Delta.

I was thinking of the 70s-era country song "Delta Dawn".

"story of my life"

overused in meaningless situations...

heard today

Bob: "damn pen isn't working..."

Dip####: "story of my life man!"

Using 'cos as shorthand for because isn't terribly common, but whenever I see it I become grumpy. What's wrong with 'cause? Or if you must substitute in a nonindigenous letter, at least go with 'cuz.

Don't know if its been mentioned but "cool story bro" is code for I'm a d-bag.
That one has a shelf-life of one use and only if the user has never heard it before. Hearing somebody else say it and then using it is lame. Continuing to use it? Yes, code for I'm a d-bag.

"I know, right?!" is probly 50 pages back, like it should be. But I just saw/heard it on some commercial by a 50 year old.
