Who should be taken at 1.01 in rookie dynasty drafts?

I think most will say Trent Richardson, but I think you can make a strong argument for Justin Blackmon based on several reasons:

1) Elite WR's careers are 5-6 years longer on average than elite RB's

2) Top fantasy RB's are almost always in flux, where top WR's are fairly constant.....thus acquiring elite WR's is nearly impossible

3) Your dynasty team is already set at RB, Blackmon might be a no brainer

There are compelling reasons to go with Richardson as well:

1) RB's like Adrian Peterson and LT are year in and year out fantasy studs. Richardson fits that mold

2) RB's selected in the top 10 of NFL drafts are rarely busts, however we have seen many top 10 WR busts

3) RB's game in and game out are constants, whereas WR's are up and down. Having a constant 20+ points per week at RB wins games.....

In PPR unless you are deficient at RB and loaded at WR I think you have to take Blackmon.

Standard scoring you reverse the above. I think both are great prospects but neither are can't miss.

How many thought Ingram was can't miss and passed on Green for him, even in PPR?

In the end it's still a crap shoot, but I think both will be good players.

I'd agree that PPR might push it towards Blackmon.Personally for me I am leaning Blackmon because of my current roster and PPR league. I have a good team but worked out trades to get pick 1.01 and 1.03. QBs: RiversRBs: McCoy, Charles, MurrayWRs: AJ Green, Harvin, Rice, CollieSo with 1.01 I'm likely Blackmon and 1.03, Luck. I think that sets me up at WR for the next 8-9 years with AJ Green, Blackmon, and Harvin.

The only hesitation for me is Luck. I don't watch much college ball. But it seems like there are two 'once a decade' guys in Richardson and Luck(based on what I'm hearing from others). Seems like you can get a top 10 WR every year. If I had one of the older QBs I might consider Luck since it doesn't seem like there will be another QB like him in the next few years (unless you think you will have a top 2-3 pick next year and can get Barclay) or a younger backup already.
