one for picking from 12 would be great. I've spent a month mocking and am not much further forward than a month ago as regards a solid strategy that I like.

I'm picking from the #4 spot, too. Where is THAT thread?
Not that hard...take whomever is left of the "big four" or Frank Gore, whomever you like better. At the second round, you had better be looking WR if you want to take the tail end of the top 10 guys. Possibly a Jennings, Colston, Crabtree kind of guy.In the third, I would take Romo if he is still there...if not, then look at either RB or WR, depending on who is left. If Jamaal Charles is there, I would be all over him.In the fourth, you can either look at a top TE (Gates, Finley or Clark), or wait on the position for another round or so. If you could not get Romo in the 3rd, then Shaub or Brady may be good bets here. If you don't get a QB here, then I would wait until the 6th or 7th and pick up Eli Manning or Kolb.Honestly, I think that #4 is one of the best slots to pick from this year.

With all due respect, I didn't say it was "hard". So I'm not sure why you feel the need to point out that "it's not that hard", your eminence. I have my own thoughts about drafting from this slot, and I agree that it is one of the better slots to draft from this season. With all due respect to your unquestionable powers of prognostication, I would like to hear what others (that is, besides you and me) think about the position.

I mainly meant the "not that hard" comment in reference to the first round pick. 1.4 is the easiest pick in the draft, IMO. At 1.1 to 1.3, you have to choose between CJ, ADP, MJD, and RR, so you will always have a somewhat difficult decision as more than one is left. At 1.4, pretty much your choice is made for you, unless you think Gore belongs there as well.

Sorry if I sounded testy. All this prep is fraying my nerves.I agree that the first round is a cinch. You just take the best guy out of those three. I am in a PPR league. My personal order is: AP, CJ, MJD, Rice. I am definitely thinking WR in the third rd. I would love to take another WR in the third round. But I think there will be slim pickins at that point. I'm not sold on Charles due to the Thomas Jones factor. And I have identified a number of quality RBs for the middle rounds. Romo will probably be gone in my league by the third round. So I am most uncertain with that pick.I guess my questions are these:1) how do you value the top 4? Not that it matters, but what is your preference?2) what WR do you expect to be there in the second?3) what to do with that third pick?

1.4 was supposed to be a pretty easy decision last year too but ask any Forte owner how that turned out. There's always room for discussion for someone outside the consensus.
