Pitts - Ward and Big Ben (1 Viewer)

Now that Big Ben is out of the game for two weeks minimum, and Ward is listed as questionable (at least now) with the hamstring - it's a double whammy for Ward.

Do you hold off on starting Ward until Ben comes back and is a steady starter?

For any of you still drafting, how does this impact Wards spot in the rankings?

Ward is listed as questionable, but he practiced today and I fully expect him to play Thursday.

I still think Cedrick Wilson is a decent start this week. Batch hooked up with him for a TD in the preseason...If Ward plays he will draw coverage all night long.

I guess my question still is - does his value drop with Batch throwing to him for 2-3 weeks?
I don't know that it would. Batch could put up the numbers Ben did if he is still competent enough to run the offense (it sounds like he is), and is more likely to lock in on the best receiver and not make as many reads. Ben didn't really put up huge numbers in games, but he plays well and hits the open guy. I think Ward gets leaned on for a few weeks, so maybe even a slight bump in points. This is only IF Ben is coming back fairly soon. The longer Batch is in, past a couple weeks, the less I like the passing attack, as defenses will inevitably give it less credit than with Ben at the helm. I think he is still a good value pick if he is really ready to go - not 'Horn 05' ready.

No Ben,Hines with a hitch in his giddyup,no Jerome to soften up the D. Something's smelling a little "fishy" Thursday night. With a dash of "Pepper" I'm smelling an upset. :banned:

I thought the Steelers only kept 2 QB's on their 53 man roster?

Who's now backing up Batch?

I missed where they dropped Jacobs. I see now, can we get that first post updated?ETA: I agree on the upset.

Based on previous years when players have had this type of surgery, it is a minimum of two weeks. Do you see him starting sooner?
