Pittsburgh at Minnesota (1 Viewer)

Cassel 6/15 for 128 - most of which was YAC.

edit: Pass to Simpson was really nice though!

After the first couple games with afwul the offense looked, I thought "well, at least the D still appears solid". Well, not so much anymore.

Lions/Bears/Browns are all proving to be really good DFs. Pitt is pretty maligned this year. Wonder how much of what we saw in the last 3 weeks is a reflection of the quality of the teams the Vikes had to play in those 3 games. Obviously you have to be able to win those games to do anything in this league, but it is worth considering.

Pretty shocked the way this game is going. I almost used the Steelers for one of my survivor pool spots.

Cool story bro.

Oh, and Felton being back is HUGE. AP has been looking extremely confident following him through holes that didn't exist in the previous couple weeks.

gd sanders
Sanders? Horrible decision by #7. He had an easy lane for a 15 yard run/step out of bounds there. Instead he chucked it right to Greenway.

Now, you want to b$#@ about Sanders not immediately trying to tackle Greenway, I'm with you. Throwing the hands up/etc. not a good idea when the ball's still live, Manny

Boom..Jennings.... QB controversy time in Minnesota.
Glad to see him playing better as the game goes on, but lets not kid ourselves, Pitt is the worst DF the Vikings have faced all season.
Maybe I just had my fill of Ponder but it seems to me that Cassel makes decisions quicker. If he gets a third TD in this game I just don't see how you sit him. If he throws a stupid pick however, then Ponder might survive.

If you can't see that the Vikings are trying things and playing with a rhythm they haven't had for two years then I dont know what else to say. Cassel is not Montana but he's a whole helluva lot better than Ponder.

Yes Sanders. I don't think BB as a nimble rookie could've picked up 15yds there never mind circa 2013. Either way its Haley's fault
It was still a horrid, horrid throw. Nothing Sanders could have done about it unless he was inside Chad Greenway's jersey.

He does seem to have more confidence, which leads to quicker decisions. What I don't want to see if trade Ponder for Cassel only to see that he regresses back to the way he has always played. I don't think Ponder is the answer, but I'm not convinced Cassel will take us any further in the end. Time for a new QB altogether, I really don't want to see either QB play just good enough to keep their job into next season. If Cassel or Ponder can show they can actually lead the team week in and week out to a win and potentially deep into the playoffs, then sure, but I don't see that from either QB right now.

:goodposting: he doesn't have the hestitation that you see from Ponder. Yes, there were a couple of passes in the first half that looked Ponderish.. But he settled down adn has loked better the last 2 quarters.

Yes, this is the Pittsburgh Defense.. But I like the decision making and the way he throws it hard to the receivers, whereas too many times Ponder seems to Lob the ball at them.

It's unreal that Pittsburgh would be favored over anyone right now. They truly suck right now and the inability to prevent big plays from unfolding seems to be a major issue for them right now.

4-12 for the season?

Not sure what the over/under was for this game.. But anyone that placed a bet I hope you took the over.. 34-24 and almost 13 minutes left..

Seems like just yesterday where this game would have been a 13-10 type of game.. Now neither team has a defense. :kicksrock:

Bah, I was hoping he really was going for it there. (While knowing it was very unlikely.)

OK offense.. The defense bent, but didn't break.. time for you to grind out a 4 mintue drive here.. Better yet, Patterson can just return the Kickoff for a TD to end it ;)

So as a lifetime Vikings fan, I always think about what could happen that would rip my purple heart out of my chest. I'm thinking a Cassel pick six where the Steelers then go for 2 and make it. Ready GO !!!

Dang it Musgrave.. If your going to call a Pass on first down then use play action and go deep.. Don't call a 1 yard pass :wall:

Luckily for you Cassel saw the slant open on the next play and then AP gets the yardage for a 1st.. 2 mintue warning, up by 7 .. can they hold??? :oldunsure:

Comment on the NFL as a whole.. Seems a lot of teams right now have issues holding a lead..

Texans were up big vs. Seahawks.. now tied.. as they had done earlier this year.. Tampa was up but now tied, much like how they've done almost every game this year.

Come on Vikes BREAK THE TREND!!!!! :)
