Pizza Rev-- "chipotway" style pizza? (1 Viewer)

Wasn't this Kramer's idea on Seinfeld?
Yeah, we give you the dough, you smash it, you pound it, you fling it in the air; and then you get to put your sauce and you get to sprinkle your cheese,

and they - you slide it into the oven.

You know, you have to know how to do that. You can't have people shoving their arms into a six-hundred degree oven.

I love PizzaRev. Blaze Pizza is pretty much the same concept and also good. 800 Degrees is the sucky-undercooked-soggy-bland-long lines version that you should skip.
Interesting - I have an 800 Degrees near me that I'm pretty sure is locally-owned, and not part of a chain. But they don't do the build-your-own like these. Good pizza though. :

Eating at my desk is just part of the job working for a west coast hedge fund. Saves money not buying lunch every day. Usually have leftovers or just eat an apple. I also work from 8:30 to 3 at the latest, so I'd rather have short days than a full lunch hour.

I like bars too and would prefer to go to there for a sporting event. But again, I have a lot of kids and I can't always hang with the fellas or go by myself to a bar. You will find that out soon enough, GB. Especially if you have more than one. So during football season, it is a nice treat to take my sons to Wildwings where we can watch the football games, eat some wings, play some trivia and hang out. There's other options too, but that's just an example. I'm not going to defend their food quality; I just like a spot where everybody is happy.

And if I AM going somewhere alone to eat, I'm going somewhere where I can belly up to the bar, read, have a beer, glance over at ESPN on TV and enjoy the peace and quiet. I sure as hell am not going to a Five Guys where people scream, throw peanut shells and huff down soda.
that's all well and good, but if you're the type of person that never eats out at lunch and never goes out to eat at a place that doesn't serve beer or have sports on tv, you're maybe not the target audience for a fast food pizza joint that (around me anyway) caters heavily to the business lunch crowd in a crowded city with plenty of other good options.

I don't think they are trying to compete with BW3 or Applebees or something here.

I said I like to order it online and take it home. I'm just not hanging out there. Probably wouldn't hurt these places to at least have a TV. Rather watch stale reruns of Sports Center than read all the self-aggrandizing news articles Five Guys plasters their walls with.

I thought the MOD pizza I was at in Bellevue, WA actually had ESPN on TV plus a solid selection of draft beers.

I didn't see beers in Beaverton, but they could very well be there. I took my sons there a year ago as we were out and about on a weekend day when the Saints were playing the Seahawks in the playoffs. Wildwings was packed, so I tried MOD. Walked in, asked where the TV was for the playoff game and they looked at me like I was crazy. We went to a better version of 5 Guys that had a TV and beer. Win win.

Maybe Bellevue is run by men with balls.

Have you ever had Papa Murphys? It's the same but you cook the pizza at home. If you like take home it is a good option because it is piping hot out of your oven

Nah, manliest thing Bellevue has going is their highschool football team.

Oh yeah. Too many times. I don't really enjoy their pizza, but there was a time where I ate the hell out of it. Good concept.

I bet if you requested the pizza at pizza Rev uncooked you could do the same thing if you preferred that pizza to Papa Murphy

Yeah, Willie...that's a good thought.

Mod pizza is soon to descend on Michigan. 25 stores in the next 5 years. The first walking distant from me opening in the Spring.

GM - Track Town will do this. Just a thought next time you're in Eugene and heading home. I've picked up pizzas on the drive up to Portland or on the way through from the coast to Bend.
