Through week 6 Braylon Edwards, Plaxico Burress and TJ Houshmandzadeh have played phenomenally well.

In 6 games Braylon Edwards has 29 catches for 552 yards and 7 touchdowns. He's on pace for 77 catches 1472 yards and 18 touchdowns.

In 6 games Plaxico Burress has 30 catches for 507 yards and 8 touchdowns. He's on pace for 80 catches 1352 yards and 21 touchdowns.

In 5 games TJ Houshmandzadeh has 47 catches for 505 yards and 7 touchdowns. He's on pace for 150 catches 1616 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Now obviously these players aren't going to reach those season totals (or at least I don't think so). Obviously they're playing at an incredibly high level right now and are 3 of the top 5 wide receivers in Fantasy Football. My question is who continues being an elite receiver this season and who falls back to the pack and why do you believe it to be the case.

Voted Edwards and Housh. Burress' ankle is becoming more and more of a problem; and the Browns and Bengals D sucks so they will both be involved in shootouts and reap the benefits.

Plax has ALWAYS been a top 5 talent - now he seems to have matured to the point where even an injury won't prevent the production from matching.

B. Edwards had a lot of questions and just as much talent coming into the vaunted third year of his career. He is THE PRIMARY red zone option on that team, run or pass.

Housh is by far the leading receiver and I see nothing that will change that, on a very high powered passing attack.

How can you say any of these are not the real deal?

Now be honest how many of these receivers did you seriously think would be in the top 5 at any point this season let alone playing as well as they have so far? I'll admit some people here were really high on Housh. Braylon Edwards had his fans but nobody thought he'd be this good with no qb in Cleveland (though they have one now in Anderson). Most were low on Plaxico Burress in the preseason. I'm not saying these guys came out of nowhere because that's not the case. But this level of play from all 3 is certainly unexpected.

I think anyone who knows football would say that one thing has stood in the way of Plax and top 5 finishes year in and year out - maturity. He seems to have it now. If his head is in the game, the guy is very, very difficult to stop.Edwards I would agree with you - but everyone knew the talent was there. The problem was maturity, the QB issue (or lack thereof going into the year) and the weight of "potential" - would he ever meet it because so many never do. Well, considering his success the second half of last year and more importantly his solid play and continual targeting in the red zone this year, I'd say he is living up to it. I would agree that because of the QB situation here, he is most likely to slide - but that doesnt mean he is not "for real" - top 10 is for real. Top 12-15 is close. Top 5 is stud or near stud and I dont expect Edwards to remain THERE all year if THAT is really the question.Housh is just the goods. I have finally stopped doubting him (I know, way for me to get in front of the curve here). That said, he won't have 22 TDs. But 14? How can you say that is not very achievable in this offense as the #1 target?

how is Plax's ankle becoming increasingly worst and worst? he's producing week in and week out.

Does anyone think Chris Henry will put a dent in the numbers Housh is putting up so far this year? I know Housh had some nice games last year with Henry and CJ in the lineup, but adding another playmaker to the mix might limit his opportunities. I also think Rudi Johnson not carrying 20-22 times a game is helping out Housh quite a bit. If the Bengals D is so bad, you'd think they might try to make a concerted effort to pound the ball with Rudi and control the clock a little bit (perhaps his 17 carry, 9 yard effort in SEA proved otherwise).

It's pretty clear Eli is looking to Burress as his main playmaker and their timing looks great. I think Eli is giving the play more time to develop this year because he doesn't have a safety outlet like Tiki this year...having that security blanket last year probably caused him to cut his progessions short. If Burress stays on the field, I think he's a lock for top 10 and good bet for top 5.

Edwards is option #1 in Cleveland with Winslow 2nd and not much after that. The rushing attack is suspect and the defense is mediocre, meaning he should see plenty of passes every week. Is Anderson playing over his head because Edwards and Winslow are making him look good, or are Edwards and Winslow benefitting from having a legit QB? I think it's a mixture of both. I think Edwards will probably have a few stinkers going forward, but his upside is great and a few HUGE games will land him in the top 10 at year's end.

Plax is producing as a game-time decision every week without practicing during the week. He even said that he almost sat out the Atlanta game. I think it's naive to think that it won't catch up with him in the form of either worsening the hurt ankle, or injuring something else due to overcompensating.

It seems like TJ Houshmandzadeh has had his best games when the Bengals weren't running the ball 20 times a game. When Rudi starts running the ball like before maybe Housh starts playing more like he did in his first 2 games (17 rec 119 yds 3 td) than his next 3 (30 rec 386 yds 4td)
