Player Spotlight: LaDainian Tomlinson (1 Viewer)

Here's the way I look at it. Barring injury, LT is a lock to finish in the top 10 RB this year regardless of scoring format. The only 3 RB that I feel are safer first round picks are AD, Turner, and MJD. So I just had the 1.4 pick in a money league and took LT. I think he's got at least one more great year in the tank. He's on the level of a Walter Payton or Barry Sanders and a floor of 275 /1200/12 is not out of the question. Add in 50/400/2 and you have a top 5 RB.

You can certainly make great arguments for Forte, Slaton, SJ, DeAngelo, Chris Johnson, and even Portis and Westbrook. But half of these guys likely won't finish top 10. Good luck figuring out which ones don't. Certainly the scoring format makes a difference, but even in PPR, LT has a shot to finish top 5 RB and is a lock for the top 10.

I know it's only a couple of preseason carries but last night it looked like his lateral quickness is as good as it's ever been while his acceleration isn't. There were a couple of plays the young LaDainian would have taken for big gainers where last night he couldn't get out of the second level. As a Charger fan it was a bit disappointing to see. Also the line was having the same problems as last year creating running room on 1st down. I'm hoping things improve as preseason goes on, but the realist in me thinks LaDainian isn't going to do markedly better than he did last year. He's still a 1st rounder, but back half of the round I think.

Number of RB that were 30 or older that have scored 250 fantasy points in a season: 8Number of RB that were 30 or older and had 2500 carries that have scored 250 fantasy points in a season: 2 (Martin and Payton)I'd be very surprised if Tomlinson discovered the fountain of youth. Despite what the team is saying, I don't believe that they franchised Sproules to have him watch from the sideline. At this point I would be concerned that he could continue to get nagging injuries that impede his production and ability to get the workload he once got.275 carries, 1070 rushing yards, 10 rushing TD45 receptions, 360 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD15 passing yards, 1 passing TD
That totals 260 points in PPR with my league's scoring. Not too bad for a RB you can get near the end of round 1.

David,The first two stats are meaningless. One has nothing to do with the other. You are also talking about 2 world class running backs as if LT isn't in the samer neighborhood productivity wise. Secondly, you go onto to state that you dont believe the Bolts franchised Sproles to to have him watch, but then you go onto list LT as having 320 touches this year. Something isn't adding up here. Lastly, 3,8 ypc is embarassingly low even for a 30 yr old LT. I think Julius Jones could do better than that on this team with all of the weapons they have. C'mon bro, make this a little more lucid for us.

That was 2 and a half months ago. With LT looking better, I have him rated and ranked higher since then. I would bump him up another 25 carries, 250 yards, and a couple more TD.

That's #2 RB behind Adrian Peterson type numbers right there in PPR.
